Thunder saw the blood dripping down from Kris's jaws as he let go of the red wolf's ripped throat. Chen ran to him, a mixture of relief and concern written all over his face. "I'm so glad to see you!" Chen exclaimed as he embraced Kris tightly. The rest of them, led by Xiumin, approached cautiously. Xiumin, with anger in his eyes, stepped up to Kris. "You traitor! You didn't even tell us you were leaving," he yelled, his voice echoing through the clearing. Kris met Xiumin's gaze, his expression filled with a mixture of sorrow and determination. "It wasn't my choice, Xiumin. This is what's best for me. I can't stand it anymore, being pushed around like some random furball with wings," Kris said, his voice tinged with sadness as he lowered his head, his wolf ears drooping in defeat. Xiumin fell silent, the realization dawning on him that perhaps he hadn't truly understood the inner turmoil Kris had been facing. Kris took a deep breath, the weight of his decision evident in his every movement. "And yes, I wish I was joking," Kris continued, a sense of resignation in his tone as he pushed his wolf ears back, preparing for what was to come. Thunder approached the group, his presence commanding respect. "It was perfect, but not the perfect timing for the things you were meant to do," Thunder spoke. Kris nodded in agreement, a sense of peace washing over him as he turned to Chen. "I'm very sorry about this, Chen," Kris said softly, a hint of sorrow in his eyes. With a swift movement, he covered Chen with his wings, a symbol of protection and love amidst the turmoil of their world. As the moon rose high in the night sky, casting a silvery glow over the forest, the pack stood together, united in their acceptance of Kris's decision. Though paths diverged and hearts ached with the pain of separation, they knew that their bond would endure, for true friendship transcended distance and time. And as the echoes of their howls blended with the whispers of the night, a sense of hope bloomed in their hearts, guiding them towards a future filled with new beginnings and endless possibilities.
