"Talking"

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Welcome to Saiyan Biology 101. I am your teacher, you can call me Celia-Sensei." Celia said, tapping her wooden pointer on the large whiteboard behind her.

"Is this really necessary?" Gray deadpanned. He was eager to go fight again, but they'd been delayed when Kami decided it was necessary to bring some Senzu beans with them. Gray conceded, realizing that having a backup plan was smart, even if he felt like he could kick anyone's ass right now.

It would take roughly an hour for Korin to get the beans ready, so that left them time for Celia to, in her own words, 'explain everything' to Gray.

"Yes," Celia replied bluntly, "And, I believe what you meant was 'is this really necessary, Celia-sensei?'"

"I'm not calling you that," Gray deadpanned again.

"Fine," Celia sighed, "You know what separates us from other races, correct?"

"That we're a warrior race," Gray answered easily, "We learn to fight at a young age, and are naturally inclined to fight."

"Yes, but, there have been other warrior races. There are other warrior races," Celia countered, "Intergalactic mercenaries. Barbaric planets that know nothing but war. Overlord wanna-be's that Frieza has crushed under his foot. Strength is essential in this world - we are far from the only race to focus on it, and yet we are the strongest. Do you know why?"

Gray blinked, trying to figure out what answer she was looking for.

The canon reason for Saiyan's being so strong was because of Planet Vegeta, right?

"The gravity on Planet Vegeta," Gray answered, "We grow up with a strong gravity, so our bodies become strong from it."

"Partially, but Planet Vegeta is not the only planet with a strong level of gravity," Celia shot him down, giving a slight shake of her head.

Then, it's the Zenkai Boost she's talking about.

"We grow stronger by fighting," Gray answered again.

"Yes," Celia nodded this time, "That's half the equation. While learning from your failures isn't a method known only by us, the difference comes from our bodies. Instead of only our minds, our bodies also learn from our failures, becoming stronger in the process."

"And the other half of the equation?" Gray asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Also our bodies," Celia hummed, "But for a different reason. You were correct earlier - we are made for fighting. We fight from when we are born. We don't fight because we want to - it's because we need to. We are born to fight, and our bodies reflect that."

"Explain," Gray said simply.

"Our bodies constantly seek to become stronger. To become better fighters," She continued, "Slowly, over the course of our lifetimes, we become our more in sync with our bodies. We grow closer to reaching our ideal fighting forms."

"That's what happened to me?" Gray asked with a raised eyebrow, gesturing to his longer, more muscular body.

"Kind of. You..." Celia trailed off, looking at him blankly for a moment, "I don't know what you are. My ability is more useful than you think. It tells me more than I've explained to you - more than I've explained to anyone, even my father. However... it's only partially effective on you."
