Beef's POV:
The next week was... awkward, to say the least. Anytime anyone brought up Xisuma around Keralis, it was like they’d hit a brick wall. He'd just flat-out ignore the question and then suddenly become very, very invested in whatever he was doing at his base—whether it was building, tinkering with redstone, or just digging random holes.
It wasn’t like Keralis was angry all the time, but there was this coldness about him when it came to Xisuma. His usual warm, easygoing nature was just... gone. It made everyone a little uncomfortable.
“Have you talked to Xisuma yet, Keralis?” Ren asked one day while we were all hanging out near the shopping district.
Keralis didn’t even look up from what he was doing, just casually adding a few more blocks to the structure he was working on. “Hmm? No, not yet.”
That was it. No further elaboration.
Mumbo, always trying to lighten the mood, threw in, “Maybe you could give him a little grace? He did kind of... overdo it, but you know, he's just stressed.”
Keralis didn’t respond. Not a single word. He just kept working.
It was starting to get uncomfortable for everyone. I caught XB eyeing Keralis, and I knew he could feel the tension building up.
“Do you think Xisuma’s still trying to apologize?” XB whispered to me, not wanting to be overheard.
“Probably,” I replied, glancing over at Keralis. “But I’m not sure if Keralis is even ready to hear it yet. I haven’t seen him so quiet about someone in a while.”
We both looked over at Keralis, who was still silently focusing on his project, ignoring whatever questions were being tossed his way.
For the most part, everyone just tiptoed around the topic of Xisuma. No one wanted to stir the pot too much, but it was clear that Keralis wasn’t ready to forgive just yet.
The silence between them was... heavy.
The air was tense as we continued to try and avoid bringing up Xisuma around Keralis. Then, out of nowhere, the distinct sound of rockets echoed through the shopping district, and we all turned our heads in unison.
I watched as Xisuma gracefully landed not too far away from us, his elytra folding neatly behind him. The moment he touched down, everyone went quiet. It felt like the calm before a storm.
Keralis didn’t even flinch. He kept his eyes focused on the blocks in front of him, his hands still moving with precision as he worked. But I could tell, he was aware of Xisuma’s presence. There was a palpable shift in the air, a quiet tension hanging between them.
I glanced at XB, who was watching the situation unfold with a worried look. He knew as well as I did that this wasn’t going to be easy. Xisuma wasn’t one to back down, but Keralis wasn’t exactly someone who forgave easily either.
Xisuma, ever the careful strategist, seemed to hesitate for a moment before he took a few cautious steps forward. "Keralis," he said softly, as if testing the waters. "Can we talk?"
Keralis didn’t answer. Instead, he just kept building. His silence was his answer.
Xisuma's shoulders slumped slightly, but he didn’t give up. He stood there for a moment, unsure of what to do next, then turned to us. "I... really messed up, didn’t I?"
I wanted to speak up, to give him some sort of encouragement, but I knew better. This wasn’t my fight. It was between him and Keralis.
After a long, uncomfortable pause, Keralis finally spoke, his voice quiet but firm. "You think? Leave. Xisuma, or restock your shop, or do something else." There was no warmth in his tone, just that cold edge that made the air feel even heavier.
