Xisuma pov

He took my hand gently, his fingers warm against mine, and started leading me down a path lined with soft lanterns and carefully placed stonework. It was clear he had put a lot of thought into this spot-into this moment. My heart was racing, but I focused on the feeling of his hand in mine, steady and sure, guiding me toward whatever he wanted to show me.

As we walked, I carefully reattached my breathing apparatus. One, because I needed it to breathe, and two, because I could feel the heat creeping up my face, and I wasn't about to let him see how red I'd gotten from just a few kisses.

Keralis didn't say anything about it. If anything, I caught the way his grip tightened just a little, like he knew but wasn't going to tease me about it-at least not yet.

"So," I finally managed, my voice slightly muffled through my mask. "Why this place? What have you been working on?"

He glanced over at me, and even through the slight haze of evening light, his golden eyes practically glowed with excitement.

"You'll see, my love," he said with a wink, tugging me forward.

And just like that, my heart was racing all over again.

To my surprise, he was calm the whole time, his grip on my hand firm but gentle. He led me forward with an easy confidence, like he had been planning this moment for a while. My antennae twitched as I picked up on faint sounds drifting through the air-music? It was distant but unmistakable, a soft melody that seemed to blend with the rustling of leaves and the gentle hum of lanterns swaying in the evening breeze.

As we continued walking, I started to notice small details-twinkling fairy lights strung between trees, glowing lanterns lining a cobblestone path, and delicate petals scattered along the ground as if they had been placed there intentionally. Everything was bathed in a warm, golden glow, making the entire scene feel like something out of a dream.

"Keralis..." I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper. "Where are you taking me?"

He only chuckled, giving my hand a reassuring squeeze. "Patience, my love. You'll see soon enough."

I swallowed hard, trying to steady my breathing. The atmosphere was magical, but more than that-it was intimate. Every step we took made my heart pound just a little faster, the anticipation nearly unbearable.

And then, just ahead, I saw it.

As we reached the end of the path, the space before us opened into a breathtaking clearing. The setting sun cast a warm golden hue over everything, blending with the soft twinkle of fairy lights that wove between the branches of towering oak trees. Fireflies drifted lazily through the air, their soft glow adding to the dreamlike ambiance. A gentle breeze carried the scent of fresh flowers and earth, mixing with something sweet-candles, perhaps, or the lingering fragrance of blooming jasmine.

In the center of the clearing, a small wooden gazebo stood, draped in delicate white curtains that billowed softly. Inside, a simple but elegant table was set for two, adorned with a crisp linen cloth and a centerpiece of fresh roses and lavender. Flickering lanterns surrounded the structure, casting playful shadows against the wood. The entire scene felt almost surreal, like a fairytale setting brought to life.

Just beyond the gazebo, a shallow river wound through the landscape, its surface reflecting the colors of the sky in a dazzling display of orange, pink, and violet. Floating lanterns bobbed gently on the water, their soft glow making the rippling currents shimmer like liquid gold. In the distance, an old gramophone played a slow, romantic tune, its melody blending seamlessly with the rustling leaves and the distant calls of nightbirds.
