Izzy Returns from Vacation
Jeff is eagerly waiting by the door when Megan drops Izzy off. The little girl runs to her dad, her face lighting up as she hugs him tightly.

“Daddy! I missed you so much!” Izzy chirps.

Jeff kisses her forehead. “I missed you more, sweetheart.”

Megan gives a polite smile and says, “She’s been talking about Christmas nonstop. I hope you both enjoy it.”

The drive to Bible's mansion was filled with excitement, but it also carried a quiet nervousness for Jeff. Izzy sat in the back seat, her eyes glued to the world outside, lit with festive decorations.

“Daddy, are we there yet?” she asked for the third time, her voice tinged with impatience.

“Almost,” Jeff replied, glancing at her through the rearview mirror with a smile.

When they turned onto the long driveway, Izzy gasped in awe. The mansion stood grandly, adorned with twinkling lights and festive decorations. A massive Christmas tree sparkled near the front entrance, and the scent of pine and cinnamon seemed to linger in the air even from outside.

“Daddy, is this where we’re staying?” Izzy asked, her excitement bubbling over.

Jeff nodded. “It is, sweetheart. Do you like it?”

“It’s amazing!” she exclaimed, practically bouncing in her seat.

As they stepped into the warm, welcoming mansion, Bible was waiting for them in the grand foyer. He was dressed casually in a cream sweater and dark slacks, his smile as radiant as the decorations around them.

“Welcome, Izzy,” Bible said warmly, crouching to her level. “Do you like the decorations?”

Izzy nodded enthusiastically. “It’s like a palace!”

Jeff felt a warmth spread through him at Bible’s gaze. “Thank you for inviting us.”

“It’s Christmas,” Bible said with a shrug, though his eyes sparkled. “It has to be magical.”

After settling in, Bible guided them through the mansion, showing Izzy the decorated rooms. She marveled at everything, from the stockings on the mantle to the gingerbread houses on the kitchen counter.

“Can we make cookies?” Izzy asked excitedly.

“Of course,” Bible replied. “We’ll bake cookies and leave some for Santa tonight.”

They spent the afternoon in the kitchen, with Izzy taking the lead in decorating cookies while Bible and Jeff exchanged amused glances.

“You’re really good with her,” Jeff remarked quietly as Izzy focused on sprinkling sugar.

Bible shrugged, a faint blush on his cheeks. “She’s amazing. Just like her dad.”

Jeff felt his heart skip a beat but quickly turned his attention back to the cookies.

Later that evening, after a delicious Christmas Eve dinner, Bible suggested they take a walk in the garden. Izzy was more than happy to explore, skipping ahead while Jeff and Bible followed.

As they strolled, Jeff couldn’t help but admire the way Bible had transformed the garden into a winter wonderland.

“Do you do this every year?” Jeff asked.

“Not always,” Bible admitted, his hands tucked into his pockets. “But this year felt… special.”

Jeff glanced at him, feeling a warmth that had nothing to do with the festive lights around them.
