Two Years Ago – The Adoption
The adoption agency’s waiting room was filled with quiet murmurs and the occasional laughter of children. Bible sat next to Jeff, their hands intertwined, hearts racing with anticipation. Across from them, a social worker smiled warmly.
“We have three wonderful children I think you’ll love to meet,” she said.
Bible and Jeff exchanged a glance, excitement flickering in their eyes. They had talked about this moment for so long, imagining what it would be like to expand their family.
The door opened, and in walked three tiny figures—Andrea, Eza, and James. The triplets were small, barely five years old, their faces filled with curiosity and a hint of nervousness. Andrea, the boldest, clutched Eza’s hand, while James peeked at them from behind her.
Jeff’s heart melted instantly. “Hi,” he said gently, crouching down. “I’m Jeff, and this is Bible.”
Andrea tilted her head. “Are you gonna be our daddies?”
Bible swallowed the lump in his throat and smiled. “Only if you want us to be.”
Eza, the shyest, looked up at Jeff with wide eyes. “Do you like hugs?”
Jeff chuckled, his eyes softening. “I love hugs.”
Without hesitation, Eza threw herself into Jeff’s arms, Andrea following suit. James hesitated for a moment before running into Bible’s embrace. Bible held him tightly, feeling an overwhelming wave of love surge through him.
That was the moment they knew—these children were theirs.
“Welcome home,” Jeff whispered, pressing a kiss to Andrea’s head.
The triplets giggled, their tiny arms wrapped around their new dads, sealing their bond forever.
Present Day
The mansion was alive with chaos and laughter as the triplets ran through the halls, their voices echoing. Jeff stood in the kitchen, chopping vegetables while Bible sat on the counter, watching him with an amused smirk.
“Daddy! Papa!” James shouted as he skidded into the kitchen, Andrea and Eza following close behind. “Izzy said she’s taking us to the arcade later!”
Jeff raised an eyebrow. “Did Izzy say that, or did you ask her a million times until she gave in?”
Andrea giggled. “Both.”
Bible chuckled, ruffling James’ hair. “Go tell her to be careful with you three, okay?”
Eza, always the most observant, tilted her head. “Daddy, why are you looking at Papa like that?”
Jeff paused, glancing at Bible, who was still watching him with a knowing smile. “Because I love him.”
Bible hummed. “And because I’m thinking of how lucky I am.”
Andrea made a face. “Eww, gross!”
James crossed his arms. “No, it’s cute.”
Eza nodded. “Yeah, I like when they’re all lovey-dovey.”
Jeff laughed, setting down the knife. “Alright, alright. Enough roasting your parents. Go get ready, and don’t drive Izzy crazy.”
The triplets cheered and ran off, their energy boundless.
Bible hopped off the counter, wrapping his arms around Jeff’s waist. “You know,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to Jeff’s jaw, “I still can’t believe this is our life.”
Jeff turned, resting his forehead against Bible’s. “Me neither. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
Bible kissed him softly, their love woven into every touch.
A chorus of exaggerated groans echoed from the hallway.
“EWWWW!”
Jeff turned bright red as he pulled away, laughing as Andrea pretended to gag. “Oh my God, go away!” he called.
James just smirked. “We live here.”
Eza giggled. “But we don’t wanna see that.”
Bible smirked, whispering in Jeff’s ear, “We’ll just kiss more often to torture them.”
Jeff shoved him playfully, still flustered. “You’re mean.”
From the living room, the triplets’ laughter rang out.
The mansion was alive with warmth as the triplets ran around the garden, their giggles filling the crisp afternoon air. Andrea was chasing James with a wooden sword, while Eza sat under a tree, doodling in her sketchbook. The past year had been nothing short of perfect—Bible and Jeff had built a home overflowing with love, and their little family had grown even stronger.
“Daddy Jeff!” Andrea called, running up the steps to the patio where Jeff was sitting with a book. “Can we go get ice cream later?”
Jeff smiled, setting the book down. “Did you ask your Papa?”
Andrea pouted. “He said to ask you.”
Jeff chuckled. “Then I guess that means yes.”
Before Andrea could squeal in excitement, the sound of a car pulling into the driveway made everyone turn. The front door opened, and a familiar voice rang through the house.
“Izzy!” James shouted as he bolted inside.
Fifteen-year-old Izzy barely had time to drop her bags before James tackled her in a hug. Andrea and Eza followed, wrapping their arms around her. Izzy laughed, ruffling their hair as she greeted them.
“i miss you guys !” she smiled at them
Bible walked in, a smile lighting up his face. “Welcome back, Izzy.”
Izzy pulled away from the triplets and hugged him tightly. “It’s good to be home.”
Jeff leaned against the doorframe, watching with a soft smile. When Izzy turned to him, she rolled her eyes playfully. “Are you going to stand there, or are you going to hug me?”
Jeff chuckled and opened his arms. Izzy stepped into the embrace, holding on tightly. “Missed you, Daddy Jeff.”
Jeff’s throat tightened slightly, warmth filling his chest. “Missed you too, kid.”
The triplets eagerly pulled Izzy outside to show her their new treehouse, while Bible and Jeff watched from the patio. Bible slipped his arm around Jeff’s waist, pressing a kiss to his temple.
“She still calls you ‘Daddy Jeff,’” Bible murmured. “Even after all these years.”
Jeff exhaled, eyes locked on Izzy as she laughed with the triplets. “I may not be her biological father, but she’s always been my daughter.”
Bible smiled, squeezing Jeff’s hand. “And she always will be.”
As the sun began to set, the family gathered around the dinner table, sharing stories, laughter, and the simple joy of being together.
It didn’t matter that they weren’t all connected by blood—love had made them a family, and that was all that mattered.
