Charlie pov

I want to go home, Charlie. I'm going back to Thailand ."

I looked up from reading the book when I heard freen speak, now organizing something in a folder.

"What?" I asked because I wasn't sure what I heard.

She sparkled, making me laugh softly.

"I want to go back to Thailand , Cha. I want to go home. Can I?" and she agreed, acting cute and coming closer to wrap her arms around my waist while resting her chin on my shoulder. She's back hugging me.

"You just had surgery, are you going on a trip right away?" I raised an eyebrow as I grabbed her arm to pull her away from me.

It's been over a year since she woke up from her coma. She was bedridden for five months and unable to speak for three months.

During those months, freen felt a mix of emotions. Most of the time, freen felt frustrated because she was forcing herself to get up from bed.

But she couldn't.

When scenarios like that happen, she'll just cry and cry and then I'll comfort her so she can settle down.

When her voice came back, she kept saying that she needed to get stronger and get better so she could go back to Thailand and see Rebecca again. When that happened, I always reminded her that something new was happening and then she would go quiet and say "I just wanted a proper closure.", but I know deep inside she was still hoping for a comeback but it was too vague. It's been five years already.

She keeps on pushing herself to stand and with her determination and effort, she gradually got up, so her therapy continued and by the grace of God, she is now able to move properly like before.

But I just hate the feeling that when I used to help her change her clothes, my eyes always widened at the wounds on her body. It really hurts me seeing her scars and wounds on her tummy and on her back. She also has a small stitch on the back of her head that you can only notice when you touch it.

"It's only been a month, Cha. Don't worry about me. I can handle myself," she replied with a smirk and then went back to organizing the papers she was holding.

One month ago, she was constantly complaining of stomach pain so we decided to take her to the doctor. That was when we found out that there was a small piece of glass in her that had been removed during the accident so she was immediately operated on.

The doctor said it would take about two months before it would completely heal, so she was reminded to always be careful and not do things that could affect her surgery since her wound was only three weeks old.

"What's that?" I asked in surprise, pointing to the paper and folders she was holding.

She smiled softly. "Legal documents of Becky's company."

I frowned. "And?"

"I managed to negotiate with Mr. Badilla and here it is. This will be my birthday gift for her, Cha." She was still smiling when she said that, but it quickly disappeared when she heard my question.

"You wanna give that to her personally?"

I noticed her bit her lip and shook her head. "No. She doesn't need to know it came from me. I'll send this to her anonymously."

I nodded and then took a deep breath. "Okay. Prepare your things because....we're going home."

She was obviously surprised by what I said because the folder she was holding was hanging in the air. I chuckled and reached for her arms and gently lowered it. "We're going home, freen. We're going home to Thailand ."
