As Adhyant carried Saachi into the grand Sherawat mansion, his mind was a whirlwind of emotions. He could still feel the softness of her body in his arms, her head resting against his chest, and her breath shallow and labored. The moment he crossed the threshold of the mansion, a strange sense of finality washed over him.
This was where she belonged no matter what had happened in the past. She was his wife, and he was going to take care of her, no matter what it took.
The large living room was bustling with activity. Avyaan, who had already arranged everything in advance, came behind him with the other family members.
He gave everyone a brief, serious look and said. “We’ve got everything ready,” Avyaan said quickly, his voice calm, though his eyes betrayed his concern. “The doctors are waiting for her.”
Adhyant nodded but didn’t speak. His face was pale, his mind consumed with the image of Saachi’s fragile form in his arms. He couldn’t let her go. Not now. Not when she was like this.
As he made his way upstairs. Siddhi, Adhyay and Avdhaan saw them while they didn't go to court so they don't know anything. But they ran behind everyone.
He pushed open the door to his room with his foot, walking straight inside and placing Saachi gently on the bed, as if afraid to hurt her any further. His hands trembled as he tucked the blanket around her. The room, usually so cold and imposing, felt suffocating at this moment. His heart pounded in his chest, and he stood over her, his gaze fixed on her pale face.
Avdhaan and Adhyay entered the room just as Adhyant was about to sit by Saachi’s side.
They exchanged a look of silent understanding and moved swiftly to the other side of the bed. “You should let the doctors take care of her, bhai,” Adhyay said, his voice gentle but firm.Adhyant didn’t move. “I’m not leaving her,” he replied, his voice a little too tight, a little too possessive. He couldn’t leave her now. Not when she was like this.
Siddhi, who had been standing quietly by the door, finally stepped forward. “Bhai, she needs help. Please, let them check her,” she said softly, her voice carrying a hint of pleading. Her eyes were full of worry, but there was a calmness to her tone that seemed to cut through his turmoil.
Reluctantly, Adhyant stepped back, though his gaze never left Saachi. Advitya had already signaled the doctors in, and a team of three entered the room, all wearing white coats and carrying medical equipment. They approached the bed without a word, moving swiftly but professionally.
Adhyant hovered in the corner, watching closely. His body was tense, ready to intervene if anyone tried to move Saachi in a way that he didn’t approve of.
One of the doctors, a middle-aged woman with kind eyes, checked Saachi’s pulse and temperature.
“Her pulse is weak, and she has a high fever,” she murmured, looking up at the rest of the team. “She’s very weak, too. Looks like she hasn’t eaten or had any fluids in the past couple of days. The stress and emotional strain have caused her body to shut down.”
Adhyant’s heart clenched at the words. Two days? He had no idea how much she’d been suffering, how much she’d endured on her own. The realization hit him like a blow to the chest. His grip on the edge of the bed tightened.
“Her fever is rising,” the doctor continued. “She needs fluids, and we’ll need to give her a drip immediately. The stress has also caused significant exhaustion, and we’ll need to monitor her closely over the next few hours. There’s a risk of dehydration and further complications if she’s not treated properly.”
Siya, who had been standing at the other side of the bed, nodded. “We’ll make sure she gets whatever she needs. And we will take care of her.”
The doctor nodded, and the other medical staff moved quickly to set up an IV drip. Adhyant stood motionless, his eyes locked on Saachi. His entire world felt like it was collapsing around him as he watched the drip being attached to her arm.
