Doctor's P.O.V

I go for a walk to get some advice. I'm currently in Victorian London. I parked the Tardis a ways away from Madame Vastra and Jenny's house so I could have some time to clear my head. Needless to say it doesn't work. I rap twice on the door and stuff my good hand in my pocket, leaving my burned one dangling by my side. I decided to come here when I walked into Clara's room to find all her belongs gone except one. Doctor Teddy sat against the pillows of her made up bed.

Jenny opens the door dressed in a robe to hide her nightie and her hair spills in waves down her shoulders. She holds a lantern in one hand and the door in the other.

"Doctor? For what do we owe the pleasure of your company in such late hours?" I can detect the sarcasm in her voice as plain as day.

"So sorry to bother you but umm this is kind of embarrassing." I nervously rock back and forth on my heels. "I have a predicament, well not really a predicament. You know what? I'll just come back later." I start to turn around.

"Doctor?" Jenny says. I look back at her. "Come in." She leaves the door open and I follow her in, thankful for such great friends. Awhile later I'm in a chair with Jenny, Madame Vastra, and Strax sitting across from me on the couch.

"She left him all by himself. How could she? He's just a bear." I take a sip of tea. Madame Vastra takes my small pause to talk.

"Well do you have feelings for Miss Clara?"

"I don't wish to disclose that information."

"You came to us for advice on your predicament and you don't wish to disclose the most crucial information that will solve your problem?"

"Yes," I shift uncomfortably in my seat.

"Yes? Yes what?"

"Yes I have... feelings for Clara."

" Well then you have your answer."

"Which is what?" Madame Vastra huffs with impatience.

"You love her so don't part with her," Jenny mumbles practically asleep on her arm. Strax sits at attention, his eyes closing every once in awhile then jumping back awake.

"Thank you dear," Madame Vastra says to Jenny then turns back to me. "Take it from a lizard in love, you don't want to waste one second being away from the one person who makes every day worth living. Does Clara make you feel like that?"

"When I'm with her yes."

"How exactly do you feel now?"

"Lost, guilty, horrible, frustrated, hopeless, sad... dying."

"You need to get her back."

"But she's not safe with me!"

"Doctor It's not about her being safe. It's about her being happy. And she's good for you. She passed the one word test."

"That doesn't mean anything."

"I beg your pardon. To put everything you mean into one word is anything but extraordinary," Madame Vastra counters. It's clear Jenny and Strax have lost their battle and now are sound asleep.

"Pond. She said pond. She meant the frozen pond where the kids old governess fell in, but to me it meant-"

"Amy Pond. I know Doctor."

"Amy has nothing to do with me and Clara."

"Oh I think it has quite alot to do with you two. For example, you push her away because she supposedly isn't safe with you. Is that because you couldn't protect Amy and you don't want go through that kind of loss again? Don't try to deny it Doctor I can see it on your face." How dare she use Amy against me?. But she's right. I bury my head into my hands.

"It's not just Amy."

"I know. You may think Clara is better off without you but she's probably destroyed right now."

"But she'll get over it right? With time she should be okay."

"If you were just a random bloke who broke her heart I'd say yes. But you're a Time Lord with a blue box that travels through time and space. That might be harder to let go of."

"Something happened. She died and I brought her back using the Tardis."

"In what way?"

" I hooked a defibrillator to the heart of the Tardis and used it on her." She gives me a confused look.

"A defibrillator is a device that uses electrical volts to shock a person's heart into working."

"Ah. Continue."

"Well it changed her. Not a lot but at times she's pretty intense."

"Does the de-defib-"

"Defibrillator."

"Right. Does it work by itself or did it have to be plugged into the Tardis?"

"It works by itself."

"So I don't understand. Why didn't you just use the defibrillator? Why hook it up to the Tardis?"

"I-I... just thought it would work better. You know, the Tardis could give it an extra boost."

"Did she do that to your hand?"

"Oh yes." I look down at my hand like I'm just seeing for the first time.

"What is the damage?"

"She burned me."

"With what?"

"Her um. Her skin." She frowns.

"I see what you mean by intense. Surely you can't be letting her go out into the world if she can do that? Especially in her emotional state." I frown as well. She has a point.

"I think I should go check up on her. Just to make sure she's okay." I push myself out of the chair

" Not just to make sure she's okay. To apologize profusely and tell her how you feel about her."

"Yeah that too," I say in a rush because I'm not sure if I'll do that bit yet. "Thanks again."

"Your welcome. Could you let yourself out? And don't be afraid to visit in the daytime." I chuckle.

"Of course. Good night." I tip my hat to her before stepping outside. I walk back into the Tardis with a skip in my step, only because I am allowing myself to see Clara again. Whether it's the last time, I still haven't decided. I enter the Tardis. I haven't seen Daisy since she abused me in the corridors. I'm just going to give her some space for now. I set the coordinates for Clara's house. But when I walk out of the box there are police cars out front and in the drive way. Two of them are talking to Angie and Artie's father near one of the police cars. Dread starts to spread through me. The front door opens and Artie sprints out to me, careful not to be seen by his father.

"Doctor?"

"Artie, has something happened? Where's Clara?"

"Me and Angie heard the police pull up and knock on the door. We came downstairs to them telling Dad that there was a house fire and Clara was found inside."
