"it's so pretty up here," i told the crew as we all were on a rooftop in new york, waiting for the ball to drop. "we should just come here literally every single new year."
"for sure," Amari said, leaning against the roof and down below us. "the people so damn small but now i'm remembering that we're so damn high and i could fall to my death." he quickly stopped leaning and held a hand to his chest.
"pussy up," Aiysha said now taking his position. "we should definitely make this a tradition." her hair was blowing from the wind that was starting to make my eyes water. "it's so damn cold though." she shook, backing away and into the arms of her man.
"now whose a pussy," Amari chuckled, his arms wrapped around himself. "opp, grab your partners it's two minutes till midnight. lemme go find my man." he said, quickly making his way through the crowd.
i chuckled watching him go and looking around. "hey," Kali said as she made her way towards us, her arm wrapped around Karrah's arm. "it's almost midnight, i can't believe this." she smiled.
her nose was beginning to turn red from the cool air. "i know, it's so crazy. a lot can really happen in a year." i shook my head, sighing.
"sadly," she gave me a small smile.
Karrah huffed next to her, rolling her eyes. "what is up with yall." she pulled Kali away from me and closer towards the edge of the building, both of them watching the ball.
Aiysha squealed, "i'm so happy to be spending this with you and in new york!" she clapped her hands taking her position next to Kali and Karrah.
"one minute!" Amari yelled, finally making it back with his new boo Alex. "where's Gio?" he asked, but just when i was about to shrug someone wrapped their arms around my waist and placed a kiss on my neck.
"never mind," he said going back towards the edge but suddenly remembered. "babe be careful, i almost died earlier."
i chuckled as well as Gio. "where did you go?" i turned around to look at her wrapping my hands around her arms.
"i had to use the bathroom," she simply shrugged.
i winkled my face up, "okay."
"TEN!"
"you know, i'm really glad that we're going into the new year together," she suddenly said, pulling my eyes away from the ball.
i smiled, rubbing my nose against hers. "me too baby."
"SEVEN!"
she huffed, "i love you, baby."
i grinned at her, my face softening. "i love you too, so much." i placed my hands on her cheek as she smiled at me, showing me her grillz.
"ONE!"
"happy new years, ma." she stared down at me, her eyes twinkling with what i now know was love.
"happy new years," i wrapped my arms around her neck, pulling her down into me as our lips pressed together.
"still can't believe trump is president, shit." Aiysha suddenly stated, causing every one of us to laugh.
