Ryders p.o.v.

It's been three days. Three days that Skylar hasn't moved or shown any signs of life besides breathing. The Doc Stephen said he's in a state of sleep. I haven't slept except for when I dropped from exhaustion a few hours earlier today but even then I only did for about an hour. I had to make sure he was as comfortable as possible and I kept checking to see if he was awake. My wolf wasn't helping either because he was howling all day, whining for our mate to wake up. I had to snap at him to stop.

We've had visitors too. There were three she-wolves that came to see him, curious as to why the laws were suddenly revoked on him. My wolf may have scared them away though because they were getting way to close and were staring at him for too long. Other than them there was five other teen-wolves and three adult-wolves that came but I stopped letting them enter after those three she wolves came in. I didn't need or want them with me and Skylar now and I don't think he would want them here either.

I sighed and kept staring at my mate's pale face while rubbing my thumb in circles on the back of his hand. In these past days I've gotten over the fact that he lied to me about his name and that no matter what happens or who he is I'll always be there to protect him. I wish he would just wake up. I can't loose him when I just got him. I placed his hand gently on the cot and clenched my fists as anger overtook me for the fourth time since my mate has been comatose. Standing to my feet I walked to the window and glared out into the woods. I hate all the things he must have went through, the ridicule, the beatings, and the alienated feelings. It must have been awful and lonely. I need to find out who those wolves that hurt Skylar almost four days ago are, where their from and why they came to hurt him.

So we can kill them!

No Tallinn so we can punish them. I told him seriously while my mind was already flashing to the images I can't forget. My jaw clenched.

No! KILL! They hurt mate! He growled and my eyes turned a dark gold as he tried to take control from me. I grabbed a hold of the window sill and willed him to go back.

Stop it! We don't know who they are calm down! And we will not kill them. I don't want a repeat of last time! I yelled at him and he immediately went silent and still when he heard that. Blowing out a breath I peeled my fingers off the sill only to see my fingers shape still on them. Great. Turning back to my mate I walked over and brushed his bangs out of his face. Somehow, even though he's not moving, they keep going into his face. A smile tugged at my lips as I watched him breath through parted lips, he looked calm and peaceful but the scars slowly healing around his body tell a different story.

A knock came on the door and I sighed, deciding to ignore it. Skylar was really pale but the Doc Stephen said that was to be expected. He looks thinner too and that's saying something considering how skinny he was before, not that I think it makes him look bad just that I would be happier if I didn't have to worry about him starving to death. The knocked came again, louder this time. I guess some people just don't understand when they are being ignored. "Go away!" I growled. It was silent outside for a moment before I heard a smaller growl and a bang on the door.

Angry that someone dare growl at me I stormed over and flung open the door after unlocking it but I didn't see anyone outside. Confused I looked down the hall but it was empty, closing the door I scratched my head, frustrated. Honestly this is so not the time to play games with me. When I finally turned again to check on Skylar I yelped when I saw a small boy hovering over his body on the hospital bed. Just so we are clear it was a very manly yelp. Scared for my mate I ran forward and yanked him off Skylar, careful not to hurt my mate. "Hey whats your problem!?" The little brat in my hands yelled and tried to get out of my grasp.
