11. Showdown: Maya vs. Sesshomaru

(Maya's Pov)
I don't know how many attacks I threw at him and he dodges them all. He was good but not that good. He has to have a flaw somewhere I didn't see....My eyes scanned over him as I dodge his attacks. There was no flaw that I could tell no weakness in this man at all.

I started worrying about Kagome and the others. Are they all right? Did they find Inuyasha and the others? Was caring about these people my weakness. I mean I hardly know them?? I try to force my thoughts away so I could focus on my battle but it wasn't working.

"Just focus just focus" I whispered to myself. I broke away from my thoughts just in time a green whip came at me, I quickly jumped out of harms way.

I drew my sword yet again and ran at him. Are swords clanged together numerous times? I raised my hand towards him and out shot black vines. They wrapped around his legs and arms. He didn't struggle to get them off he just stood there. I knew my chance was not or never.

I swirled my hand around so the wind started to pick up, the wind wrapped around my blade. I snapped my fingers and a flame appeared at my finger tips. The flame began to connect with winds around my blade.

"Blazing wind tornado"!!

One swipe from my sword is all it took. A tornado of wind and fire started forming. The tornado was destroying everything in its path. The speed was increasing as it made its way over to Inuyasha's brother. The vines were covering his whole body as I looked over at him.

I try to keep my breath steady as I control the winds of the tornado. I felt myself slowly losing energy and control...

Not now I thought not now! The demon named Sesshomaru jumped out of the way before my tornado could hit him. I stopped swirling my hand around and I watched my attack vanish. Leaving nothing but scorched fire marks on the ground.

The smoke from the fire burning on the ground was everywhere. I couldn't see a thing I swiped my hand in the air making the smoke disappear. I quickly moved out of the way before I got hit with a ball of energy.

As I regained my balance another ball of energy came at me. I put my sword in front of me so it could block the ball of energy. I kept dodging and blocking everything he came at me with. His attacks became more difficult to block, I found myself growing tired...

(Kagome's Pov)
I smelled smoke from where we left Maya. I begin to grow worried about her. How could we be so stupid and leave her behind like that? Especially up against Sesshomaru there's no way she stood a chance. We had to go back we just had too.

"We have to go back" I yelled to the others.

"No, Kagome we can't go back Maya said we can't".

Anger boiled inside me as I listen to Koga's words over and over in my head.

"How can you just say that; Maya needs us you stupid"!

"Maya can handle herself Kagome".

"How do you know? You don't even know her"! I felt bad for snapping at Koga but come on he doesn't know her as much as I do.

The look on Koga's face went from determination to shock within minutes after the argument.

"You're right Kagome I don't know Maya but I do know this, I know a demon like her would give her life to protect us and she would make sure "are" safety came before her own".
