Inuyasha: The Warrior of the Night (FanFic)

Prologue

We are called many names, like walkers of the shadows and demon ninjas. We prefer to be called the warriors of the night or shinobi which means (ninja). I’m what they call kunoichi (female ninja) I’m the only female of my kind. Well, my name is Maya (May-a) I’m 14. I grew up behind walls and barriers my whole life. My father said it was for my protection which he was right in the end. My mother died when giving birth to me I wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for my god mother Kikyo. From that point on I looked up to Kikyo. She would come every year on my birthday and spend the whole week with me. I always would spend my time with her wisely. Kikyo would always inform me that it was her job to protect the shikon jewel she wore around her neck. The jewel was quite a site to look at, it glowed a soft pink color.

“Why does it glow that color Kikyo”? Maya asked

“It means it’s purified” Kikyo answered her

Her crystal blue eyes stared at Kikyo in curiosity. Kikyo couldn't help but to smile like she always had. Although Maya wasn’t human, yet you couldn’t even tell she had been born a demon, she had all her mother’s features. Maya’s mother was half mortal and half demon. Maya did not get her mother’s mortal side, somehow her body made her into a full demon. Kikyo had to always remember that Maya was not human, but the way she looked would tell you otherwise.

Kikyo couldn’t help to admire her god child and how beautiful she had been. She had paler skin then Kikyo and her hair is much longer than hers. Both of them had the same hair color though Maya had more of a shine to hers.

“Kikyo, can I ask you something?” she spoke quietly so only she could hear her.

“Yes what it is” Kikyo looked at her trying to figure out what she was going to say

“Could the Shikon Jewel make me mortal?” she asked glazing at the glowing ball around Kikyo’s neck.

Kikyo looked at Maya startled by her question.

“Now child why would you want to be human, aren’t you happy the way you are?” Kikyo asked looking at her with a puzzled expression.

“Sometimes I think if I’m human that I could have a chance at a normal life instead of  a life of training to fight and being daddy’s little warrior girl all the time” Maya said in a tone that sound annoyed.

“I’ll tell you what, the next time on your birthday I’ll ask your father if you can come live with me in my village and we will talk  about it then” Kikyo stated with a smile

The girl jumped to her feet in joy, her crystal blue eyes showed so much excitement.

“T-That would be great” she said in joy.

On Maya’s next birthday, Kikyo never showed. When Kikyo never showed Maya’s father went to see what had happened to her. Maya begged him to take her with him but her father refused. As the days past there was still no sign of Kikyo or her father. Maya grew worried about both of them.

A week passed by and Maya’s father showed back up. He seemed so dejected.

“Father  have you heard any news about Kikyo? Is she alright”? 

Maya’s father stared at her and looked away in sadness.

“Hunny I’m sorry to inform you about this but lady Kikyo was killed by a demon. The demon was after the Shikon Jewel” he said to her.

Silent tears began rolling down her cheeks with more following after that. They wouldn’t stop coming. As soon as her father tried to comfort her Maya pushed her father with her mind all way to far side of their village. She ran off to her hut after that.
