"What the hell do you want at this hou-" Magnetee felt the alcohol still in her bloodstream burn away once she blinked her eyes at the call and saw who was there.
She vaguely remembered being told that if you ever made the top ten, then there was a chance for more required team-ups, that is, team ups required by the Commission to get the job done. She'd pretty much dismissed that as the type of gossip that people engaged in when they were jealous. Sure, the top ten heroes worked together on big cases, that was normal, when they needed that much expertise and strength.
So a call the morning after the Billboard was not something she expected.
Magnetee blinked several times, forcing her eyes to focus. Last night, being announced as Rank 10 had been a surprise. A good one, but a surprise. She never thought... That's why she'd gotten good and plastered last night. To celebrate. She'd even gotten Inasa to have a celebratory drink with her! The brat was doing well, better than well given he was at the Billboard on one of All Might's agency's spare invitations, even if he'd rejected their hard won recommendation to UA. Oh... she'd wanted to... Recommendations did not come easy! But at least he seemed to be doing well and had accepted the drink and Shadowcrawler had made sure she got back to her hotel okay, so had Spinner and that's all she really needed.
On the call was the Commissioner, and all the other heroes in the top 10 except... Where was Endeavor? Had the bastard... wait no, that was Number One Bastard now, had the good sense just to ignore Sozo's call. Enji had to have been celebrating every bit as hard as she had last night since he'd been lusting after the Number One position for... at least as long as she'd been a hero. Magnetee wasn't quite sure.
"There are two incidents in progress at the moment," the Commissioner announced. There were always incidents going on, but the way he said it, made it clear that it was incidents that were worthy of the Commission's attention. "Endeavor is already dealing with one incident."
Magnetee knew better than to speak but crap! How early did the bastard start work? He couldn't have... Her brain fuzzily reminded her that she actually had no idea what he'd done last night.
"That's in Osaka. The other incident is at Tartarus," the Commissioner said.
"I am so there!" Mirko cried and before Sozo could say anything further and the image of her on the call disappeared.
The Commissioner stared before he sighed. "Who is in a position to help with either incident?"
Magnetee blinked again and tried to remember geography. She was in Tokyo where the Billboard was held. She pommelled her brain to think. It would take at least 3 hours to get to either location. And if she was remembering correctly, Tartarus and Osaka were in different directions from Tokyo.
"I can be in Osaka in about 10 minutes," Hawks declared.
That was quick enough to make a difference. It was also slow enough that it might be too late. But where the hell was he... Kyoto? Magnetee flinched internally. She liked her job. She loved being a hero and coming in at Rank 10 was an unexpected surprise but... how much of a life did the top heroes have if they were already in Osaka, Kyoto and close enough to Tartarus to make a difference? How did they not have hangovers? Or were they that much more restrained?
The Commissioner considered for an instant. "Go," he instructed Hawks before his image turned, probably as he looked back at the rest of them on his screen.
"I believe I can make it to Osaka in time to make a difference," Edge Shot told the Commissioner.
Kouki nodded. "Go."
"Washu!"
"Go," the Commissioner instructed Wash, not bothering to try to get him to speak normally. If he could make to either target it would be of assistance.
