Questions That Must Be Answered

When Kai came to, he could feel that he was restrained. His arms were crossed over his body and strapped to something behind him. The set up was secure and overkill for someone of his ability.

He opened his eyes. He wouldn't gain any information while he was feigning unconsciousness. He was seated at a table and on the other side was someone he didn't recognise. He recognised the uniform. It was one of the HPSC's interrogators.

Kai huffed. This promised to be moderately unpleasant.

"Mr Chisaki," the man said.

"Yes," he replied, testily.

He knew what they were going to ask. They wanted to know what was wrong.

"I trust there is a reason for your... outburst?"

The question brought back the anger he'd felt earlier, and Kai felt his lip curl in disgust. "Dragon fucking changed her quirk!" he barked.

At least the man didn't look like he had no idea what he was talking about. "What was her quirk previously?" he asked instead.

Kai gave the man a look. "Did you seriously think I made quirk destroying bullets from a bitch with a barrier quirk?"

"We were not sure what to think," the man replied. "But your answer does explain your lack of progress."

"Ya think?"

"What was her quirk?" the man asked again.

Kai had never spoken about it, because he'd assumed they knew and he didn't want to give them any hints that may give an advantage but if she didn't have the quirk then... Maybe the knowledge of what Dragon was holding would provide suitable encouragement for the HPSC to get serious about capturing him.

"It was called Rewind," he told them. "It allowed her to rewind the state of any physical object."

The man considered that for a moment.

"People included," Kai reinforced.

The man nodded. "So that's how... You isolated the quirk factor, and then did something to make it work on a quirk," he murmured.

"Yes," Kai agreed. There was no point in denying what he had been doing. It was useless with whatever quirk Eri had now.

The man thought about that. "This does change things somewhat," he announced.

Of fucking course it did. He'd made a deal with the HPSC to reproduce the bullets but he couldn't do that now...

"But, that's not my decision," the man said as he rose.

"This wasn't my fault," Kai told him.

The man waved one hand, obviously not caring and Kai knew that the HPSC were going to screw him over.

That was the lot of a Yakuza... He expected it.

But one day...

By the Precepts... any of them... He was going to find a way to make the brat pay.

One way or another.

Ever since All Might had confirmed there were people around him, because of his quirk, Tokoyami had caught Dark Shadow staring at everyone. Others didn't notice, because that's what Dark Shadow did but Tokoyami knew that his quirk was looking for other people to see. He didn't think she'd found anyone.

But one day, she had been very very interested in All Might, and then in Inasa. It wasn't until later, when they were alone that Dark Shadow had told him that the people with All Might had moved and were now people with Inasa. All Might now had no one with him. That was normal but... Tokoyami knew what it meant. All Might had given his quirk to Inasa and was now quirkless.
