I groaned and tossed my phone onto my bed next to me. I was really just bored and wanted to hang out with her.
I still had my second option, my roommate. We weren't the best of friends but we used to hang out a lot before she got with her boyfriend. They just recently broke up so I thought she might want to.
I left my bed and walked cross my apartment to Teyanas room. I knocked on her door and waited for her to respond before I walked in. "Hey Tey." She was sitting down at her desk in her room watching a movie.
"Hey boo." She pressed her space bar to pause her movie. "Do you want to go run some errands and get food with me? I have to go buy some groceries and go to the beauty supply store."
She smiled. "Oh my God, yes. I need to get out of the house, I can be ready in fifteen minutes."
"Okay, great. Meet me in the living room when you're done."
I left her room and went back to mine to grab everything I needed and put on some shoes. It only took Teyana about ten minutes to be done and then we left.
The entire car ride and part of the time we were in Target, we talked about her breakup with her ex. The rest of the time I told her about Bey. It was nice to talk about it with a new perspective, and she also agreed with my friends that I should see how things go with Bey.
We ended up buying some decor for our apartment too and then we left to go to the beauty supply store.
I mostly just wanted to look around and maybe get a couple things. This beauty supply store was way bigger than the one I just moved away from so I was kind of obsessed.
Teyana and I both found a couple things we were going to buy.
We turned a corner just to run into Bey and another girl. Bey and I both literally froze.
The thing she was so busy and caught up with was another girl? The girl was cute too which was even more annoying, I couldn't even hate on her.
Bey was holding all the girls stuff and still looking like a deer caught in headlights. "Come on Tey." I quickly turned around and started to walk toward the register.
Teyana whispered. "Don't tell me that was the girl you were just telling me out."
I rolled my eyes. "Yup." As soon as you start bragging about them, they embarrass you.
A second later, Bey was behind us calling my name. "Onika, wait!"
"Can you get my stuff? I'll Zelle you, I just don't want to talk to her right now." Or cause a scene here.
She nodded and started to take my stuff from me. "Yeah, I got you. Go."
I left the store while ignoring Bey. Before I made it all the way to my car she ran in front of me and stopped me. "Wait, wait, wait. Please hear me out before you drive off with the complete wrong idea. Please."
I stopped. "There's really nothing to explain. You said you were caught up and I see you shopping with a girl in the beauty supply store and holding her stuff so... what wrong idea do I have?" It seemed pretty clear with me. "We're not together or anything so you can do what you want."
"No, I promise. I really was busy, I'm trying to get things together for my friend who's getting out of jail. That girl was his girlfriend, Mariah, that's why we were shopping together. It wasn't like that at all."
"Oh." Well I guess that did add up with what Robyn was telling me. Now I felt a little dumb.
She smiled. "So... can you forgive me for this misunderstanding?"
"Nothing to apologize for, I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions like that. I'm sorry."
"I get how it looked. But as long as you're good, I'm good. Can I get a little kiss before you go?"
I had to have been smiling like a dumbass. "Yeah." She deserved it.
She gave me way more than a little kiss. I almost forgot we were in public.
After, we went out separate ways and I waited for Teyana to get into the car before we went to our next stop. She wanted to go to Ulta so we went there and then stopped at Chipotle before going home.
Bey came over again that night and we watched a movie. And kissed. She wanted to do more, again, but I stopped her at kissing, again.
