ONIKA
Bey was coming over tonight for a sleepover and I was really excited.
I don't know if she was factually going to come sober like she promised but I was too excited about her coming over to care.
She had worn but she texted me when she got off and was on her way home. I offered to pick her up but she declined, not surprisingly.
Earlier I made brownies because I knew she wanted those and I also made some of the cookies she liked before. When she told me she was on her way, I ordered a pizza for us.
My mom came downstairs while I was sitting at the kitchen table waiting and looked around. "Where's your friend? It's getting late, is she still coming?"
"Yes, she's still coming." I hope so. "She had to close at work."
It was really late. There was less than an hour until midnight.
"Okay. I just wanted to get some water, I'll leave you alone."
"No problem."
No offense, but I'm glad she'll get here after my parents go to bed. I don't think she's good with parents.
My mom got a glass of water and went upstairs.
A couple minutes later, Bey texted me she here. I got up maybe faster than I should've.
I saw a brand new looking Benz pull into my driveway and I was confused until I saw Bey get out of the passenger seat. That made more sense.
She was wearing grey sweatpants and a long sleeve black shirt. Of course, she had her black Jansport on. I don't think I've seen her without it.
She looked around with wide eyes. "Damn."
"What?" I started to get nervous for no reason.
"This is a nice ass house." She walked up to my door and waved at whoever was in the car. "Can I come in?"
"Oh, yeah of course." I moved out of the way and she walked inside.
She did a full 360 looking around my house. "This is a nice ass house. It's exactly what I expected you to live in."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Nothing." She turned to me and smiled. "You look nice."
I looked down at my matching pajama set and laughed. "It's childish, but thanks." Both my shorts and shirt had Hello Kitty on them.
"Not at all. It's cute."
The doorbell rang making me smile, the pizza was right on time. I turned back around and opened the door again.
The pizza man was a young looking white guy with shaggy brown hair. Just like a movie. He pulled the pizza out of the insulated bag and handed it to me with a 2 liter lemonade. I already paid and tipped online so I just said thank you and closed the door with my food.
Bey was still standing exactly where she when I turned back around. I laughed strangely girly, "You can sit down if you want."
"I'll follow you." I could tell she was sober. That made me happy but I think something was off.
"Okay. We can eat at the dining table."
I walked over to the dining table and put the pizza box down. I waited for her to sit down and went to the kitchen to get plates and cups for us.
She was on her phone so I placed the cup and plate next to her then went to sit across the table. "I got half cheese and half pepperoni, it seemed like the safest choice." I should've just asked her what she wanted.
