CHAPTER 34
Charles
Now
'This view is breathtaking!' Lin exclaims, and I know she still can't believe we're in Greenland. When I told her I meant to fulfill all my promises, she could've never imagined I would've started from the very first. It was the first night we'd met, at her birthday party. I had promised to take her here after Céline had told me it was her biggest dream to capture the northern lights with her camera. 'Well, we've landed just in time for sunset.' While she's still looking out of the big window in front of the bed, I join her, wrapping my arms around her body. My chin rests on one of Céline's shoulders, leaving a soft kiss that makes her shiver.
'Are we going to look at it from here?' She asks me, looking around the room, and I notice her eyes fixing on her little luggage at the end of the bed. She's probably packed with just spring clothes. 'We can go out if you want, I have clothes for you in the bathroom.' I tell her, peppering her shoulder with little kisses. Céline smiles and I couldn't be more in love with her than right now. 'You really thought this through, didn't you?' She asks me joking, turning around in my arms to face me. And just now I can notice she's blushed.
'I wanted it to be perfect.' I admit to her, whispering. After that I can feel our lips meeting for a brief moment, then Céline cuddles in my arms, leaning on my chest, letting me hug her tight. 'It's you and me, it would've been perfect anywhere.' She's flattering me, and she's obviously going to see my cheeks turning red. 'Don't do this to me.' I beg her, keeping my voice low, not to break this magical moment. 'Do what?' Céline's eyes are confused, she stares at me waiting for an explanation, and when I'm ready to give her one, I ask myself if it's not gonna freak her out. But I decide not to care.
'Don't look at me like this, saying those things... my heart can't take it.' I'm sure she didn't expect my words, but she doesn't look intimidated, more content with what I said. Her eyes are piercing, I feel them burning on my skin, then she smirks coming even closer to me.
'What about them?' She asks me, provoking me. I know what she's trying to do, what I'm not sure about is if I can control myself much longer.
'You make me want to keep you in this place for the next three days and take you in every fucking room.' Now she's blushing, but I know I turned her on as much as me. Céline moves a little on my hip, making a moan escape my lips. My mouth leads its way on her neck, biting the lobe of her ear. I feel a warmth spreading in me, my heart is racing. She's never let me this close in the last months, maybe she's opening up. Maybe that's when she tells me everything. But her voice reaches me in a soft whisper. 'Charles.' My hold on her waist tightens, my fingers deep on her skin.
'Please fleur.' I beg, but slowly she pulls back, making me look at her. The brown of her eyes looks lighter right now, full of desire, but she's still scared and I can't do anything but give her space. 'Can we go see the sunset? I'd love to take some pictures.' I just nod, it's not like I can keep her here without her consent, I never would. But as she's about to enter the bathroom to get changed, she stops throwing at me her hoodie to catch my attention.
'One sunset, then I'm all yours.' And with that I know it's time to know the truth. We decided to take a walk through a nearby village, enjoying the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. The quaint houses, each adorned with warm lights, look like something out of a fairytale. As we stroll along the narrow streets, I notice a group of children playing nearby. They see us and start whispering excitedly among themselves. One of the braver kids approaches, looking up at me with wide eyes.
'Are you Charles Leclerc?' He asks, his voice filled with awe. I nod, smiling. 'Yes, I am.'
The boy's face lights up, and soon we're surrounded by a small crowd of children, all eager for pictures and autographs. I kneel down, taking the time to chat with each of them, answering their questions and posing for pictures. Their excitement is infectious, and I can't help but enjoy the interaction. As the children chat animatedly, I glance over at Céline. She's standing a little ways off, watching with a soft smile. But there's something in her eyes, a flicker of something I can't quite place. She's always been supportive of my career, but moments like these can sometimes be overwhelming. Once the sudden fan meeting is over, I walk over to Céline, slipping my arm around her waist.
