THREE MONTHS LATER, the two had still not established what their relationship was. y/n would go to his practices, and he would drop her off and pick her up at tokyo university.
it was safe to say that y/n was growing angsty about their label, and didn't know how to confront him about it.
"what do i do? should i just be like 'why are we not dating yet?' but then he's gonna ask me out because he knows that he has to now. i want him to ask me out because he wants to ask me out, you know what i mean?" she confessed to her friends, keiko and hana.
"yeah, i understand that. i dunno, i think you should wait it out a few more weeks. maybe he has something planned?" hana suggested.
keiko hummed but countered. "that could be true, but has he hinted about anything? like going out to a fancy dinner soon, or just date night in general?"
"well, we are going out soon. i don't know, i don't want a sugar daddy anymore. i want something more. something real" y/n sighed.
"what you guys have is something beyond just a sugar daddy slash baby relationship. you guys are pretty locked in, if we take out the equation that you guys aren't technically official yet" hana replied.
"yeah that's true. i'm just so sick of not having a label. i don't wanna refer to him as the 'guy i'm seeing' i wanna be able to call him my boyfriend or something corny like that"
"you'd think that him being five years older than you, that he'd know better by now" keiko rolled her eyes.
"has he even had any other girlfriends before? i mean he's been playing pro for awhile, so if he has there must be some articles about it" hana asked.
"we should look right now" y/n smiled, pulling out her phone.
y/n googled "suna rintaro ex girlfriend" and multiple articles popped up. "holy shit, there's so many articles" y/n's eyes widened. keiko and hana immediately got out their phones and continued to search.
"so her name is sara miya..." keiko trailed off. "his best friends sister? are you kidding me" y/n groaned. "and she's 25" keiko continued. "she's his age too? i'm cooked"
"and they dated for three years" she said like she was ripping off a bandaid.
"yeah i might as well kiss my chances of being with an older guy goodbye" y/n sighed, shaking her head.
for the next three days, she was stalking her on tiktok, looking at old edits of them, and overthinking. after all, they'd only broken up a year ago.
