After Miguel explains get an ancestry test done on me to find out the identity of my mother, and how this could be life changing for me, I realize the fact that I don't think I'm ready to meet her.
I've wanted her in my life for so long now but now I don't want her to come back. She left on her own, and I'm fine with that.
"I'm okay with not knowing her," I say.
"Really? Why not?" He asks.
"She been gone for ages already, bringing her back won't change or help the situation I'm in," I explain.
He nods understandably, "it's your choice."
"And, if I wanted to know who she is, I'd do it when I'm not fighting with the world." I laugh.
"Sounds fed-" he stops and ponders, "wait, no, it's frustrating. Sounds frustrating. What a fun word to say."
"My favorite word is strangle. I like the way the tongue moves when you say it."
"You've made it very clear," he scoffs.
"Then don't give me a reason to," I laugh.
"Then don't be so angry," he retorts.
"Then don't make me so angry," I stick out my tongue.
"Miss Crybaby," he rolls his eyes.
"Mr. Know-it-all-"
"Okay, you win." He says, "and I'm saving myself from an annoying conversation."
"Good night, Miguel," I laugh.
"Good night, Callie." He says and gets up.
He walks almost to the staircase, "hey!"
He spins around and sighs, "¡Ay! ¿Qué te pasa, mujer?"
"You know what," I smile and sit up.
He rolls his eyes and walks back before he bends over and hold my cheeks and gives me a kiss.
"¿Estás feliz ahora?" He says.
"Yes," I giggle like a little girl.
"Good night." He says.
"Good night." I reply and he turns off the light.

After leaving 5th period, I walk to next class with my things by myself. Like usual. Yay me. Schools been pretty quiet lately, too quiet. No me gusta. Most of the people have been avoiding me lately and I like it better than being the topic of gossip.
I try to move fast as a new crowd of people from in the hallway preventing me from getting through. But everyone stops and all of a sudden, I see Joanna fly through the air and pounce onto me and we go tumble down the carpeted hallway.
I throw her off of me and into the wall with a loud slapping sound to follow people gather around us with gasps and their phones in the air, trying to get a good view.
Wrong fucking day to do this, asshole! I grab her disoriented self by the hair and drag her to an area that isn't visible by the cameras. I throw her down and punches are thrown and taken by the both of us and a teacher finally notices. The Spanish teacher. Fuck! I'm out to crash the fuck out right about now and she just added her big self into the situation.
Luckily, they can't technically do anything about it but because they would violate some laws that have to do with something about the students privacy. Everyone is gasping, laughing, and chanting but the voices are going in one ear and out the other.
We are like a little ball on the floor moving around and bumping into walls and someone rips her off of me and I take this opportunity to get up. It's Hannah.
