Later in the evening, I wait in the waiting room of the family consulting office and read through brochure after brochure. I look at my phone and begin to complain in my head in how the rest of them are late, but they rush through the door. Carly has a worried expression on her face as if being late is the most horrible thing to happen in the history of the universe.

"Are we late?!" She almost screams.

Knew it! "No," I say sarcastically.

My father scoffs and my brother hushes him. Great, an hour and a half of him scoff for the entirety of the session.

The lady opens her door and I have to refrain from laughing because the expression on her face makes her look like a pony. "Good, you are here," he says softly with a small smile, "this way please,"

We step into her office that is dimly lit and has motivational quotes framed across the walls. Yay, so when I'm bitching about my life I get to see a cat hanging from a tree branch that is saying, "it could be worse"

I sit in small chair while the three of them sit on the light blue colored sofa.

"Your mother won't be joining us?" The lady asks Carly.

"No; she mysteriously vanished when I was three," I smile, "ask my father he'll tell you all about it!"

"Asswipe," my father scoffs under his breath.

"Retard," I smirk.

"Okay, so Carly you have told me that you all have trouble getting along and seeing each other's thoughts and feelings on different things, but is there anything else I should know about before we start?"

"Oh yeah," I begin, "padre here's an asshole who won't tell me about my mother and won't show empathy to my problems."

"I asked Carly," he scolds me softly.

"Just like the scale asked you to step off when you stood on it," I smile under my breath.

My brother has to cover his mouth to prevent himself from bursting into laughter and my sister has a smirk on his face.

"Yes," she manages to get out in between laughter, "Callie was in horrible, horrible situation-"

"It's not like it ever happened!" My father interrupts, "she's just a baby 'bout it."

I scoff, "shut up for once,"

"Well anyways," Carly continues, "she was in a bad situation and my fathers reaction to it was not okay and she left home."

"Callie, so you've been staying with your neighbors, what's that like?" She asks.

"Fine, I suppose," I say uninterested.

"What's it like there?" She asks.

"It's normal, better than my old home," I explain.

"Define normal," she commands.

Get off my ass! "We do normal things together, we have normal conversations-"

"Families that argue are also normal," she cuts me off, "continue."

"And we don't, because I'm not apart of that family yet," I growl through my teeth.

This chick is pissing me off, "but how is your school life affected by this?" She asks.

"She got suspended," Carly says as if my father isn't in the room.

The balls on my sister, "Suspended?!" My father yells.

"Yes, suspended, I was jumped in the hallway during school today and apparently defending myself is a sin." I roll my eyes.

"Oh," he sits back in his chair.
