Fire Angel, Ice Demon

Chapter 5

Andy's POV
Like bright reddish-orange roses amongst the dying weeds,
Her eyes pierce me.
On her wrists form blood red beads,
She looks past me.
"Someone" she says,
"Set me free."
Raising her hand,
A knife in her tight grip,
She opens her pale lips,
"Pain, go away" she demands.
She raises the knife to her throat,
But before she committed the horrible act,
I seemed to float,
Knocking her over, I heard her and the earth impact.
I got up and hovered over her.
Blood stains on my clothes,
I face my fear I most hate,
I'm too late.

Andy woke up gasping for air.
He got up and started to frantically search for her.
She can't be gone, she can't possibly be gon-

Wait...
Ugh, you moron.
She's gonna meet you here soon, you dork.
Why did I forget that? He thought to himself.

He sat back on his bed in the little cabin in the forest him and Candice are in.
Well, that Candice should be in.

He sighed.
This whole mentor thing was meant to be easy!
CC said it was.
So did Ashley.
And Jinxx.
And Jake.

All of them had no troubles.
Maybe it's because he's stuck with a stubborn teenage girl.

Candice's POV
I don't know where I'm walking, but I walk into a cabin.

Literally.
I almost knocked myself out.

The cabin was in the middle of the forest.
Quite creepy, really.
Oh well, I'm gonna see if anyone lives there.
Maybe even raid their fridge.

I step onto the red carpet and gasp.
It is sooo much better inside than what it looks like on the outside.

On the right is a living room with leather couches and a flat screen TV. Behind that is a kitchen.
On my left is a dining area with expensive looking tableware.
Directly in front of me are stairs, probably leading to the bedrooms and bathrooms.

Although I can tell people live in here, it doesn't look like anyone's home...so...time to raid the fridge.
I looked around for a light switch, but there weren't any that I could see.
Ok, raiding the fridge in the dark now.

I open the fridge and find...lots of cheeses.
Oh well.
I grab an armful of the cheeses and close the fridge door.
I head to the counter and started tasting the different types of cheeses.

"Enjoying that?" A deep voice came from the dark.

I threw the piece of cheese I was about to eat at the noise.

"...Candice I do appreciate your offer but you must remember that I am a vampire, therefore I don't particularly enjoy eating food."

I laughed.
Awkward time, yes, but I laughed anyway.
Then I stopped.
"Why are you here Andy?"
"Um, Candice, this is where I live."

I looked down at the multiple types of cheeses I still held in my arms.
"Um, I'll just, you know...put these back....like I never touched them...and I'll be going soon..."

"No," Andy stopped me after I put the cheeses away, "no, you live here now. I'm your mentor, remember?"
"Oh right."
"C'mon, let me show you your room."

He pulled me upstairs and turned to the first door on the right.
I walked in, shocked to find...
