Chapter 26

OOOOH hello! I don't have much to say other than the fact my arms are killing me because I decided to try chin-ups on the horse stable railing. Biggest. Mistake. EVER.

Anyway, I posted a new book called Short Stories! Guess what it's about? That's right- baked potatoes.

Unknown evil POV
Where the hell is she? Where has that imbecile human girl gone?! Her scent indicated that she was at her house, but she isn't!

He kicked a garden gnome in his rage, then scoffed at himself. Him, a Hook Horror hybrid, lashing out at a puny garden gnome. How violent.

He suddenly halted all his thoughts and realised something. What if he was going the wrong way? What if the human girl retreated from her house, not enter it?

He snarled and turned around, following the scent trail of the human that was once treasured by the gifted fledgling... Macey was the humans name, if he remembered what Eris had told him.

He ran with his human-shaped legs, but with the speed of a Hook Horror. He flexed his long claws that replaced his nails and searched the town with his black eyes, looking for a hint as to where the human has gone. He sniffed the air and realised Macey had veered off of the cement footpath and into the forest. What was she thinking? The forest is a vampires natural habitat! She's as good as dead.

He sprinted into the dimly sunlit forest, following Macey's scent trail. After a few moments, he heard a feminine voice yell, "OH GOD, HELP! SOMEBODY HELP!"

He snickered when he saw Macey held up against a tree by a Hook Horror. "Hey, I can finish that for you." He called out to the Hook Horror.

The creature dropped Macey and, when it saw him, bowed. "The first Hybrid... what an honour, Eguolih."

With a flip of his shaggy blonde hair, Eguolih smirked. "Why, thank you! Such lovely creatures you Hook Horrors are... now get out of my sight, moron."

The Hook Horror bowed again and scampered off. Eguolih turned and faced the human girl. She was sprawled out on the forest ground, trying to get her breath back. She looked up and saw him, her jaw dropping. "Wow, thank you for saving me... holy crap you're hot!" She blurted. She sat up and sighed, "um, sorry. Anyway, I really appreciate-" her eyes locked onto Eguolih's eyes. "You're eyes are bla-"

Suddenly, she screamed. "What the hell! You have claws! Get away from me!" She started to back away from him.

He kneeled down. "Do not fear me. I'm sure you've seen worse. You are friends with a vampire, am I right?"

She relaxed slightly. "Yes... yes I am. Are you a vampire?"

He chuckled. "No. My name is Eguolih. You are Macey, the human girl."

She nodded, then scrunched her eyebrows together. "The human girl?"

Eguolih grinned darkly. "Yes, the human girl who I have been ordered to turn into one of my own. Unfortunately for you, I have to knock you unconscious."

She went pale. "What?! No!"

"Would you rather I do it another way? It may end up with you being dead and drained of blood."

She tried to stand up and run away from him, but before she could, Eguolih grabbed a rock and hit the side of her head with it, knocking her out cold. He laughed at her pathetic attempt to escape and reached into his pocket, pulling out the tube Eris gave him that was filled with some sort of blue liquid. He popped the lid and opened her mouth, tilting the tube so it dropped the blue solution onto her tongue.
