The sun shone brightly over Flower Fruit Mountain as Wukong adjusted his hat, pulling it low over his face. "Alright, let's head to town. Trust me, you're gonna love this," he said, his tail flicking with excitement.
Y/N crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow. "Why are we going into town again? Didn't we just practice for hours?"
"Come on, Grace. You've been cooped up here for too long. Plus," he added with a grin, "I think MK and his friends should meet you. You're kind of a big deal."
She sighed, shaking her head but unable to suppress a small smile. "Fine. But if this gets weird, I'm blaming you."
Wukong beamed. "That's the spirit!"
With a quick flick of his fingers, he conjured simple disguises for them—a hooded cloak for Y/N and a wide-brimmed hat for himself. "There, perfect. No one will suspect a thing!"
Y/N rolled her eyes but followed him as they leapt from cloud to cloud toward the bustling city below.

At Pigsy's Noodles
The familiar clatter of bowls and the aroma of delicious broth greeted them as they stepped inside Pigsy's shop. MK, who was cleaning tables, nearly dropped his cloth when he saw them.
"Monkey King! Y/N! What are you two doing here?" he exclaimed, rushing over.
"Just thought we'd grab a bite and introduce her to the best noodles in town," Wukong said casually, leaning on the counter.
"Two bowls, please," he called out to Pigsy, who grunted in acknowledgment and started preparing the food.
Y/N glanced around the shop, taking in the warm, lively atmosphere. "This is... quaint," she murmured.
When Pigsy placed two steaming bowls of noodles in front of them, Y/N frowned, poking the noodles with her chopsticks. "What exactly is this?"
Wukong chuckled. "It's food, Grace. Just try it. You'll love it."
Skeptical, Y/N twirled a few noodles onto her chopsticks and took a cautious bite. Her eyes widened as the flavors exploded in her mouth. "This... this is delicious!" she said, quickly taking another bite.
"I told you!" Wukong grinned, slurping his own noodles noisily.
As they ate, the bell above the door jingled, and a lively voice called out, "MK!"
MK turned to see Mei walking in, waving energetically. "Mei!" he called back, smiling at his friend.
But Mei's attention quickly shifted to the two newcomers at the counter. Her eyes widened as she gasped dramatically.
"Monkey King?!" she exclaimed, practically shoving MK out of the way as she marched over. She stared at Wukong, then at Y/N, her gaze narrowing. "Wait a second..."

Y/N froze mid-slurp, unsure how to handle the sudden scrutiny. Wukong, on the other hand, just smiled nervously.
Mei's eyes lit up, and she pointed accusingly at Wukong. "Is she your girlfriend?!"
Both Wukong and Y/N choked on their noodles, coughing and sputtering.
"WHAT?!" they said in unison, their faces turning bright red.
"No way! It's not like that!" Wukong stammered, waving his hands frantically.
Y/N covered her face with her hand, trying to regain her composure.
"Oh, come on," Mei said with a playful smirk. "You can tell me! It's okay to admit it!"
"It's not true!" Wukong protested, his tail lashing behind him in panic. "We're just—friends!"
Mei leaned back, crossing her arms with a skeptical look. "Yeah, sure. Like anyone would believe that." She turned to Y/N, grinning. "You can do so much better, by the way."
Y/N blinked in surprise, then chuckled softly. "Thank you, I think."
Mei wasn't done. "Seriously, though, he's got this whole 'legendary hero' thing going on, but trust me, he's the worst at everything else."
"Hey!" Wukong whined, pouting.
MK, who had recovered from being shoved, chimed in. "Yeah, Pigsy and I can confirm that."
Pigsy nodded from the kitchen. "Absolutely. I wouldn't trust him to babysit a cactus."
Wukong crossed his arms and slumped in his seat. "You're all terrible."
Y/N laughed, the sound light and genuine. She reached out and patted Wukong's shoulder. "Don't take it too hard, Monkey. They're just being honest."
He glared at her playfully. "You're supposed to be on my side."
"I'm on the side of truth," she teased.
Mei grinned at the banter, clapping her hands together. "This is amazing! You're so cool, Y/N!"
Y/N smiled warmly, feeling a sense of ease she hadn't felt in years. "You're pretty cool yourself, Mei."

As the group settled into lighthearted conversation, Wukong couldn't help but watch Y/N out of the corner of his eye. The way she laughed, the way she fit in so easily despite everything she'd been through—it filled him with a warmth he hadn't felt in ages.
Y/N, for her part, found herself wishing this moment could last forever. For the first time in a long while, she felt like she belonged.
