Y/N twirled the last of her noodles onto her chopsticks, savoring the rich flavors before setting her bowl down. "So," she said, stretching her arms, "what exactly did I miss while I was out?"

Wukong opened his mouth to answer, but before he could get a word in, MK jumped in with an excited grin.

"Oh! So much happened! Okay, first off—Demon Bull King came back, and he was massive! Like, bigger than a mountain! And then there was the Spider Queen—oh man, she was a nightmare! She had these creepy minions, and she almost took over the whole city by mind-controlling everyone with her venom!"

Y/N raised an eyebrow as she listened, absently stirring her now-empty bowl with her chopsticks. "Mind control? That's some serious business."

"Yeah! It was crazy!" MK continued, eyes shining as he animatedly recalled every detail. "She turned the whole city into her puppets, and I had to fight my way through! I even had to fight Monkey King at one point!"

Y/N shot Wukong a look. He shrugged, sipping the last of his broth. "Technically, it wasn't me me. More like, evil mind-controlled me."

Y/N shook her head. "Of course it was."

MK finished his story with a dramatic flourish, throwing his hands up. "But in the end, we won! The city was saved, and Spider Queen was defeated!"

Y/N leaned back in her seat, taking it all in. "Wow... I missed everything."

"You really did," Pigsy chimed in from behind the counter, wiping his hands on a rag.

She sighed, finishing the last sip of her broth before placing her chopsticks down neatly. "Well, thanks for the meal, Pigsy. That was the best thing I've had in ages."

"Anytime," Pigsy said with a small smile. "You seem alright, kid. If you ever need a good meal, you know where to find us."

Y/N nodded appreciatively before turning back to MK. "So, that's everything that happened, huh?"

MK nodded enthusiastically. "Yup! That's all of it!"

But as Y/N glanced at Wukong, she noticed the way his expression had subtly shifted. He was staring at his empty bowl, his tail flicking slightly behind him. He was quiet. Too quiet.

Her eyes narrowed. "Wukong."

He looked up at her innocently. "What?"

"You're hiding something."

MK blinked in confusion. "Huh? But I just told her everything—"

"Not everything," Y/N muttered, still looking at Wukong. She knew him too well. The way his ears twitched. The way he suddenly avoided eye contact. There was more.

She sighed, pushing back from the table. "Well, this has been fun. I'll visit again tomorrow."

MK and Pigsy waved as she and Wukong stepped out of the shop and back into the cool evening air. The sky was painted in deep oranges and purples, the city lights just beginning to flicker on.

They walked in silence for a while, but Y/N wasn't about to let it slide.

"Alright," she said, crossing her arms, "out with it."

Wukong scratched the back of his head. "Out with what?"

"Don't play dumb," she said flatly. "There's something else you didn't want to say in front of MK."

He hesitated, ears twitching. He knew she wouldn't let it go.

Finally, with a deep sigh, he muttered, "Lady Bone Demon is back."

Y/N stopped walking. She turned her head slowly, staring at him. "...Are you serious?"

Wukong nodded grimly.

She closed her eyes, inhaling deeply before exhaling a long sigh. "Gosh, I should have stayed asleep."
