"Insider information?" Katsuki asks, almost laughing. "What is this? Some secret party that we're being invited to?"
"Consider it an elite team. Instead of a secret party." Jack answers.
"Deka." Ochako mutters, causing Sky to smirk. "That is what this is about right?"
"Correct Ochako." Sky answers. "Deka."
"As in Deka Ranger? Your Ranger form?" Shoto asks.
"Get there faster!" Jack exclaims.
"Is that what the Battlizer test was for?" Izuku asks them. "A test to see which of the red rangers would make the cut into the new SPD team?"
"Partially." Sky answers. "The main purpose was to see how you'd handle rangers who can access their strongest forms. But this was just a bonus."
"So, what'd we get?" Katsuki asks them.
"Funny you should ask." Jack says as he walks to Izuku, phasing through the desks while Sky walked around them.
"Fuck no." Izuku mutters. "Not another one." Izuku sighs. "Please... I barely can manage the ones I have now." He groans.
"I didn't even say a thing." Jack says.
"I know where this is going." Izuku tells him. "We're all red rangers. Sky's choosing Ochako, Katsuki and Shoto are also red rangers or something like that cuz you guys have like 4 different red rangers. And you, choose me as the next Ranger Prime. You weren't subtle about that when you showed me your Battlizer form."
"He's got them brains." Jack jokes. "But he's also right. Partially at least. We won't be choosing who gets what. The Grid will decide your fates for you here as well. Just like it did ours."
"Katsuki. Stand." Sky says as Doc K hands him a briefcase. Opening the briefcase, Sky shows Katsuki 13 morphers. All in the same color and size. "These are standard issue SPD morphers. 5 of them turn you into the main 5, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and Pink. The other seven are for the Shadow Ranger, Omega Ranger, Nova Ranger, Gold Ranger, Orange Ranger and the three variations of the Red Ranger form used by Jack, Bridge and me, the Deka Ranger, the Prime Ranger and the Deka Fire." He explains. "You will be making the choice today. The rest, assuming they qualify our other tests, will be choosing them later."
"Go ahead. Pick one." Jack tells him. "But before I answer that question, answer this for me." Jack asks him. "Let's say you end up becoming the Green Ranger on this team, would you follow the commands of someone such as Monoma? Assuming Monoma is chosen by the Grid to be the Deka Ranger?"
"Wait I thought Shadow was the highest in the SPD hierarchy? It was Blue Ranger, Red and then Shadow right? That's what the team recaps told us." Katsuki asks him.
"Yes, but that changed after the Fire Squad was formed." Jack answers.
"Fire Squad?" Izuku asks them.
"The Fire Squad was a specialized team of Red Rangers. Specifically, the three Red Rangers of the B-Squad." Jack explains. "Sky, after he had become leader of Earth Branch, made the team after a series of diplomatic missions were sabotaged by, well, certain forces that SPD, specifically the main ranger squads, couldn't handle. So, Sky called me back. Technically, begged me to come back as a spy for the group."
"I didn't beg for you to come back." Sky tells Jack.
"Sure thing bud." Jack answers. "Anyway, when I joined back, he gave me a new morpher, I originally assumed that it was my old Red Ranger morpher that he had taken after I had quit. But it turns out that that morpher was with Bridge and the new one gave me access to a new form. Ranger Prime as Sky later called it. This was supposed to be a single mission. But one mission turned into two, which turned into three and before I knew it, I had ended up in a large scale mission." Jack chuckles. "It was in that mission that Sky revealed his Deka Ranger form and his Spectrum Shift ability. And this was also where SOPHIE, Bridge's cyborg girlfriend, was killed."
