Good-Bye For Real This Time*

4 months, it’s been 4 months since I last saw Calum. 1 week since I last spoke to him.

I was Skype calling him one night.  “So Beth’s visiting soon” I told him, he smiled and nodded his head, there was something that he wasn’t telling me. “Babe?” I asked, “you alright?” he shook his head, “what’s wrong?”

“I miss you so much” he whispered,

“I miss you too” I said, with a tear coming down my face. “But you will come and visit soon right?” I asked, he nodded his head, smiling.

Now that was 2 weeks ago. It’s so hard to talk to him, I’m either working, at school or studying. I was looking at my computer, it was 2am where I was, couldn’t be bothered to work out what time it was in Sydney.

Calum was online, clicked his name, “call?” I asked him. Next thing I knew I had a calling coming in from Calum.

“Hey babe” he smiles, “what time is it over there?” he asks,

“2 in the morning” I say,

“Why aren’t you asleep?”

“I couldn’t, are you around anyone right now?”

“Hang on,” he moves and walks into another room, “what’s up?”

“Calum” I whisper, thinking if I should really do this,

“Jess what’s wrong, you’re scaring me” he tense up,

“Calum I can’t do this anymore” I say quickly,

“It’s fine babe, a few more weeks and then you can come home for the holidays” he says, having hope in his voice.

“I’m supposed to just come home for a few days and then leave again for months?” I say,

“That was the plan” he whispers,

“Calum, I can’t” I say,

“What do you mean?” he asks,

"I mean, I can't just leave, I'm just getting use to everything over here, I can't just stay in Sydney for a few days and then come back here for 7 months"

"It's fine, I can come over" he said,

"when Calum? You always say that but you never do anything about it" he sighed, his hands in his head “I think we should break up” I say,

“no no no, its 2am for you, you don’t mean this, no no, no you don’t mean it” he says quickly, lifting up his head

“Calum” I say again,

“you’re really breaking up with me aren’t you” he whispers, looking away from the camera,

“I’m sorry Calum, I really am” I say,

Then the call ended.
