CHAPTER  14: Would You Look At That

"That you're looking for a boyfriend," Cole sang. "I see that, give me time...and something something something," he said in his low, rough (and sexy, may I add) voice, nudging me little. I chuckled along with him. We were in our usual spot by the tree, a picnic blanket under us, although there was no actual picnic. Cole woke me up in the morning, telling me to go with him to the lake, and I declined of course because we had classes to attend and I didn't want to get in trouble.

But then he told me that we wouldn't go to classes today. I was confused, and asked him why Nick hadn't said anything about that, and he said because Nick wasn't going to know. And then I realized he wanted me to ditch with him. I would've been responsible and said no, but he was very persistent, and so I ended up being a rebel and leaving with him.

We'd been here since eight. He had brought us some delicious granola bars. Seriously. I was pissed the fuck off. I was skipping breakfast for this? But then he took out some chocolates he found in the kitchen and all was forgiven. Besides, we'd make out every once in a while just for the hek of it, and with the view and everything, it was honestly worth the ditch.

"I'm tired," I told him. He was leaning against the tree trunk of the cherry blossom tree, while I was on his left, playing with grass and rocks.

"C'mere." He guided me towards him, and put me between his legs, my back to his chest. He then wrapped his arms around my waist. It stayed peacefully silent for a few seconds before I asked, "What time is it?"

I heard him sigh in content before replying with, "About noon."

"Do you think they've noticed we're not there?"

"I think they have by now. I mean, we're the life of the party."

I smiled at his stupid attempt to make me smile. Damn, it works.

"Cole?"

"Hmm?"

His voice was so rough and seductive at the moment and I loved it.

"What are we going to do after this?"

He started tracing circles on my hands. "We're going to go eat, maybe piss some people off-"

I smacked him jokingly and turned around to see him snickering a little.

"I meant, like.... After camp."

He stopped smiling for a second, realizing I was no longer joking. I repositioned myself so that now my legs were right next to his hips, and he found comfort in this as he put his hands around me again.

"We're going to stay together. I mean, unless you want to break up someday-"

"Shh, don't say that," I closed my eyes. I couldn't even imagine that.

"It's okay if you do," he kept talking, "I mean, people change, and so do their opinions on things."

"But you're not a thing, you're a person."

He laughed. "Yes, I am aware of that."

I opened my eyes after a bit and looked into his eyes. "Are we going to visit each other and stuff?"

"Yes," he slurred, staring at my lips for a second.

"And we'll eat together and do weird shit that couples are supposed to do?"

He was leaving butterfly kisses on my lips as I spoke. They were gentle, but drove me insane. Waves of electricity shot all the way up to my fingertips.
