CHAPTER 12: It's What Summer's All About
"Look who it is," Ashley told me.
"Hey Ashley, isn't that shirt like, so out of fashion?" Chloe teased.
"Well, I mean you did loan me your clothes back when we hung out," Ashley smiled, making Chloe grit her teeth in anger.
"GAP called, they want their clothes back," Dylan told her, making Alex burst out laughing, fist bumping him a few seconds later. Ashley glared at him but he just shrugged.
"I just came to warn you guys," she told us. "And Rosalie, I'd like to discuss matters with you personally."
"Thing is Ashley, you don't 'discuss' things," Raquel told her. Ashley glanced at her before turning to me. Her look was almost pleading, so I knew she really wanted this.
"Um, yeah sure," I told her frowning. We both walked alway from the group, and when we were a safe distance away, she stopped me.
"I don't usually speak to my sworn enemies but there is a problem. And I mean, HUGE problem," she spoke seriously.
"What," I started, "did your Gucci bag get wet in your amazing bubble bath?"
She snorted. "I'm serious."
"What do you want?" I asked.
"So like, my dad and your mom have this.... thing going on," she spoke.
"Wha-wait wait - a thing?" I stuttered.
"Yes, like you know, that whole 'I like you let's go on a date' thing," she continued.
"Why hasn't she told me?" I asked. It was more towards myself than to her.
"They haven't said anything to anyone."
"Then how do you know?"
"Dude, I live with my dad. And I'm the only one allowed in his office besides him. You think I don't listen to his phone calls and read his notes?"
"What are we going to do about this?"
"They have a date tonight-"
"Where? How far from here?" I asked.
"At our house, twenty minutes from this camp. Rosalie, we have to stop this. The last thing I need is for you to be my sister."
"Ew, no."
"Exactly," she encountered. "And, try not to tell anybody. Not even your boy toy for that matter."
"He's not my.... Can we just leave him out of it?"
"See now this is why I don't want to be related to you in any way. You're always trying to make everything about yourself when really, everybody's already involved."
"Look who's talking," I scoffed.
"I have your records, Rosalie, remember? I can get into my dad's office. You can't."
"Is that a threat?"
"It's a warning. Keep that in mind." And then, she just walked away. It was too much to take in one one day.
I walked back, pretty pissed off because I seriously did not want to be the sister og the camp drama queen. And I was even more pissed because my mom did not tell me anything.
"What'd you guys talk about? If you tell me she threatened you again I promise you I'm gonna personally-"
"No no, that didn't happen," I quickly shushed Chloe up. "She just wanted to tell me that..."
