I aappreciate you guys reading! Here's Chapter 7 ;) Enjoy.
CHAPTER 7: The Aftermath
"Guys, I have to say something... I'M A NINJA!" Allison squealed. We were still at the ball and it had gotten better and better every moment. Then there were those times where Cole would give me a half smile or a wink, or even just hold my hand and it would have me melting to the ground.
"Aren't we all.." said Chloe, responding to Ally's 'confession'.
"Hey Chloe," Raquel suddenly said, "come with me to the bathroom." Chloe nodded, told us they would be right back, and then left. Ally claimed she was thirsty and left the gazebo too to get some punch. I wouldn't blame her. I mean we'd been dancing all night. As much as I loved it, I was tired as hell.
"So princess," Cole said, a smirk appearing on his face, "do you want to stay here with me or are you running away too?"
"As much as I would love that, I guess I'll stay," I told him. His smirk grew even bigger.
"I'm gonna get us some food."
"Who's the one running away now?" Cole slowly made his way to me, moving a few strands of hair out of my face. He gently kissed my forehead before saying, "I'll be right back love." Then he just left me. Stupit bastard.
"Hey," someone said. I turned around and came face to face - with Devin. The most unexpected person.
"Hi," I answered back akwardly. He inched a little closer to me.
"I wanted to apalogize for how I've been acting. I've been a jerk, dickhead, skunk bag - you name it. I should've been acting like a gentleman. I'm sorry," he managed to get out in one breath.
And the award for most unexpected things to say goes to...
"Um, it's okay," I muttered. "I'm sorry for spilling coffee on you." Devin laughed.
"Yeah, I remember that accident quite well." You don't say.
I just nodded my head quietly. Devin inched closer to me. I was getting a little paranoid now. Just then, Ashley walked to Devin's side.
"Would you look at that, the ugly duckling decided to come to the ball after all," she hissed at me, adjusting her short, hot pink mini dress.
"But not before the thirsty slut," I hissed back. Ashley scoffed as Devin eyed me up and down a few times. Was he, checking me out? I felt somewhat uncomfortable at his gaze. It was scary. Then I felt a pair of warm hands wrap around my waist and someone's chin resting on my shoulder. It made me wince, for the movement was sudden, but I relaxed once I heard Cole's voice.
"Can I help you guys?" he asked in a stern yet somewhat playful tone. Ashley opened her mouth to answer, but quickly closed it as Cole dug his head into my neck. The feeling somewhat tickled me, and I couldn't help but let out a small gigle as Cole himself chuckled a little. I then turned back to Ashley. Her jaw was tense, her grip on Devin's hand tightened, making her knuckles seem almost white. Almost.
Devin, on the other hand, watched us patiently, but there was something in his eyes that scared me. There was a hint of dominance and jelousy, but his face had a smirk on it. Basically, his reaction confused me more than his sudden personality twist did. I nudged Cole in the ribs, but he didn't get the hint like I thought he would, so instead of turning his head up to face the weird couple before us, he started placing small kisses along my neck.
"Excuse me," Ashley suddenly stated, gulping as she walked away with anger. Devin, however, stayed in place. He eyed me up and down once more, making Cole's grip on me tighter, but he said nothing. He just gave a simple nod before walking away. That was it. As soon as he had left, I pushed Cole's hands away from me and turned around to face him.
