"Cry, you don't have to lead this patrol." Matt said as I had suddenly appeared. I looked at him, shaking my head and grinning.

"I'll take this one." I told him, and he gave me a confused glance but gave a nod of affirmation, and the soldiers behind me grinned. Most of them were younger, and I was happy to see Conner was on this one. I had felt so out of place, as though I wasn't doing anything of use. I had been helping Wilson with gun repair and chemical retrieval among the city, but I felt like I was losing touch with my own gang, my own family. I had gotten up early this morning and had breakfast with all. I walked around, switching seats and talking to everyone for a little while before moving. I saw Matt organizing another scout patrol to head towards the Grouping Building, and I offered to take it. Especially since Conner was on it, and I wanted to see what he would be able to do as a leader. I beckoned him up to the front with me. "We're going to see what you can do up front today." His eyes widened, and he nodded.

"What are we waiting for?" he asked, and I turned around. The few younger soldiers were ready, and I shrugged.

"I dunno, what are we waiting for?" I asked, and he blinked before nodding, and I led the way out the door. The air was a bit chilly, and I knew that fall was soon on its way. The willow trees in the park would soon die, and I would need to find another place to hide out, especially if I was to talk to Pewds.

Pewds. I hadn't seen him for a few days. I hoped that he had gotten to his documents finally. We had risked a lot to get those for him, and should he not even get the chance to look them over it would be devastating to him. I had missed talking to him, and a part of me wanted to rush in his HQ again and fetch him, take him for a walk somewhere. Yet, I knew that doing that once was weird enough. Making a habit out of it would make M just want to shoot me. Plus, M thought that I was trying to get information out of Pewdie, and so he might just kill me on the spot. I needed to keep my cool, and respect Pewds and the space he got at his HQ building without me. Maybe I annoyed him being as clingy as I had suddenly become. All that I knew was that man was doing things to my head. I wanted to hold him in my arms, I wanted to cuddle him, run my hands through his hair. I wanted to know what he tasted-.

"Cry!" Conner hissed suddenly, jerking me from my thoughts. I must have been put into auto-movement mode, and hadn't noticed that we had reached the neutral border. I snapped my head up, and found that my group had come face to face with one of M's. I found myself grinning underneath my mask once I realized that the certain blonde I had just been day dreaming about appeared right before my eyes. I opened my mouth to speak, but they just cut us off.

"Oh, if it isn't Cryaotic, and his group of little followers, literally," the lead scout said, and he laughed with the rest of his group. I felt Conner stiffen beside me, and I knew they were talking about him. I also knew that Wilson and Matt had been giving him special training, and he could fight and manipulate his way out of nearly any situation. The only problem with fighting was that our groups were evenly matched in number, but mine were all younger soldiers. These were the last people I would throw into battle, and I knew that if it came to it I would send all of them home and take this group on alone.

"We're just here to check the borders, we don't want any trouble." Conner said, and I grinned down at him. This boy was learning so quickly, and it made me happy.

"Well so are we, so I guess we're at a bit of a stalemate," the other boy said, folding his arms over his chest, and he sniffed. "And what are they doing sending children to lead the scout groups? Cry, you must be losing your touch." They all laughed again, and I lowered my head with a grin.

"At least he's wise enough not to start a fight that he won't win. The real children here are the morons that M pretends to send on his scout missions." I retorted, and they instantly stopped laughing. The lead one stepped forward, jaw locked and eyes glaring.
