The sun shone through the windows as it did every morning, into my eyes and waking me from my sleep. I sat up with a yawn, noticing a certain blonde man next to me. At first it startled me, but then I realized I would have to get used to his presence here. He wasn't going anywhere hopefully. I got off the bed quietly, gently, as not to wake him earlier than I had to. He had a late night hanging out with the gang, learning names, making friends, having an all around good time. I was proud of my gang, Conner especially, for stepping forward and embracing him so quickly. They must have seen some of what I saw in him, although I hoped no one saw exactly what I saw in him.
He was mine and mine alone.
I switched shirts, changing into a cleaner black one and pulling my vest over top of it. I secured my knives into place, a gun as well, and I changed into a clean pair of jeans. I sat back down on the edge of the bed lightly, pulling my boots on and tying them up properly. I turned, looking at Felix. His face was soft as he slept, features gentle and his hair rather fluffy looking. I smiled, and leaned over shaking him ever so gently.
"Hey, its time to get up." I told him, and he opened his eyes slowly, looking around before he sat up. He looked rather groggy, and I made a mental note not to keep him out so late if we were to get up early. I smiled at him as he rubbed his eyes, looking more and more like a small child as he groaned.
"Morning," he mumbled sleepily, looking up at me and giving me the funniest looking smile. I beamed at him, leaning over kissing him ever so gently. He was too tired to do much else than respond, and I pulled back slowly. He leaned his forehead against mine and sighed. "I'll be dressed in a few. Let me wake up first, I'm not a morning person," he muttered, and I hummed in agreement. Standing, I made my way out the door and into the elevator.
Once in the lobby, I could see that breakfast was in full swing. People were jumping around, talking loudly, eating food, spilling drinks in excitement and tossing food at one another. Jokes were made, debates argued, it was a time to grow closer despite the mini food fight at every table including the veterans. I chuckled upon seeing this, and Wilson joined me, walking to my side.
"Sometimes I wonder if everyone here is secretly a child," he mused aloud, and I grinned.
"It wouldn't surprise me that much." I admitted, standing with my hands behind my back and watching the group do what they do. Wilson laughed at this, looking at me and grinning as the room quieted under a single shout from one of the younger soldiers.
"Hey, Cry, where's your boyfriend?" I blushed behind my mask as began Wilson coughed, turning and laughing to the point of not breathing. I rolled my eyes, pointing to the upstairs which started an uproar at my lack of denial. Wilson was still choking when Felix came into the lobby, still sleepy, and came to my side. This only made the shouting of conspiracies louder and Felix looked rather confused. He pointed at the crowd who was staring at us and then at Wilson.
"Is everyone okay?" he asked, and I only grinned with a shrug.
"I have no idea, have fun at breakfast!" I exclaimed, giving him a small shrug towards the crowd of soldiers who had several questions for him. He turned and gave me an accusing look as he was swarmed, and I chuckled to myself, turning to Wilson. "Breathe, buddy." I told him, patting his back and he stood up, taking deep breaths of air as he headed towards the basement, and I followed him.
"My God, I haven't laughed like that in years," he exclaimed, coughing from the sudden experience. "They called you out on the second day that he was here without even trying." I laughed at this too, sitting at the bar as he moved behind it. "That's just the power of the observant youth I suppose." I nodded, rubbing my face underneath my hands and sighing. Wilson glanced at me and chuckled. "Any special reason that you didn't get any sleep?" he winked, and I felt blush creep up my cheeks and neck.
