Author's POV

Amy’s laughter came to an abrupt halt as something clicked in her mind. She looked around at the group, her brows furrowing slightly in confusion.
“Wait a second,” she said, her voice cutting through the murmurs.
“How did you all even know it’s my birthday today?”

The group exchanged knowing looks, their smiles widening.

David was the first to answer, stepping forward with a casual shrug.
“It was your roommate.”

Amy blinked, completely puzzled. “My roommate?”

Darren smirked, crossing his arms as he leaned back slightly.
“Yup. He’s the one who told us it was your birthday today. And not just that—he made it very clear that we needed to make it special.”

Amy’s confusion only deepened

Amy’s confusion only deepened. Her eyes darted between the group, searching for answers.
“But… how did he know? I never told him it was my birthday.”

The group collectively shrugged, feigning innocence.

Just then, a familiar voice interrupted the moment.
“Because I’m not an idiot,” Henry said, stepping into view with his hands casually shoved into his pockets.

Amy tilted her head, and the rest of the group turned to look at him, their faces lighting up with mischievous grins.

Henry stopped a few feet away, his gaze steady and calm as he looked at Amy.
“Your calendar app,” he explained simply.
“It popped up on your screen today while you were ranting about something. I noticed the date.”

Amy stared at him, stunned.
“You planned… just from that?”

Henry rolled his eyes, though the corner of his lips twitched with a faint smile.
“It’s not that hard, Amy. You’re not exactly subtle.”

Amy’s heart swelled with an emotion she couldn’t quite name. She opened her mouth to respond, but Darren jumped in before she could speak.

“And not just that,” Darren added with a grin.
“He practically orchestrated this whole thing. The decorations, the theme, everything.

Even the ribbon thing,” David chimed in, smirking.

Henry shot the two of them a warning glare.
“Can you not?” he muttered under his breath, clearly uncomfortable with the attention.

Amy, however, was too overwhelmed to notice his discomfort. Her gaze softened as she looked at him, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Why?”

Henry met her eyes, his expression unreadable for a moment. Then, with a casual shrug, he said,
Because you deserve to have one day where it’s all about you. A day where you feel important.”
