Victor's POV

Cathrin is drunk. Not just tipsy, not just giggly, completely, utterly, chaotically drunk. And it's taking every ounce of my self-control to stay composed.

God, I would pay to see her sober self react to this tomorrow. It's going to be gold. But right now? Right now, I'm suffering.

"Moon," I sigh, reaching for her wrist as she stumbles forward. Before I can catch her, she twirls out of my reach like some drunken ballerina, giggling like a damn child.

"Victoooor," she sing-songs, spinning in a circle before stopping abruptly and pointing at me with a dramatic gasp.
"You're... YOU'RE SO SERIOUS ALL THE TIME!"

I pinch the bridge of my nose, exhaling slowly.
"Moon, sweetheart, let's go back to the room, yeah?"

She shakes her head furiously, her messy curls bouncing.
"Nooope! I'm a free spirit!" She throws her arms in the air and stumbles backward, nearly colliding with a lamp post.

I lunge forward, grabbing her waist just in time, and she giggles against my chest.
"You're so fast," she murmurs, poking my cheek.
"You should be in the Olympics."

I roll my eyes.
"Yeah, well, I deserve a gold medal for putting up with you."

She gasps, placing a hand over her chest dramatically.
"Vic, that's rude!"

I groan. "Please don't call me-"

But before I can finish, she wiggles out of my grip and takes off running towards the garden like a damn escaped zoo animal.

"CATHRIN!" I call, running after her.

She's barefoot now, twirling through the grass, arms outstretched like she's in some movie.
"VICTOR, LOOK! I'M ONE WITH NATURE!"

I catch up to her and grab her by the waist again, holding her tight this time.
"You're one with trouble," I mutter, pulling her close.

She grins up at me mischievously.
"You think I'm trouble?"

"Without a doubt."

She giggles, then suddenly boops my nose.
"I think you're cute."

I blink. "Moon, let's-"

She smirks, interrupting me by poking my chest.
"But you're also soooo uptight."

I raise an eyebrow.
"Am I?"

"Uh-huh."
She leans in, whispering conspiratorially, "You need to... loosen up."

Before I can react, she jumps onto my back, wrapping her arms around my neck like an overgrown koala

Before I can react, she jumps onto my back, wrapping her arms around my neck like an overgrown koala.
"Giddy up, horsey!"

Jesus Christ.

"Moon!" I groan, struggling to keep my balance.
"Get down before you kill us both."

"Noooo, I like it here," she purrs, resting her chin on my shoulder.
"You're all... warm and muscly."
