23: Blood Red Drip

Rain and Velgrynd were locked in a 1v1 duel outside Guy's castle. The two exchanged blows left and right but it's clear Velgrynd was coming out on top.

Rain: "I have to... beat Velgrynd-sama... to make it up to Guy-sama!!!"

Velgrynd: "I'll admit you've done quite well against me, but you should've known that it's futile to fight against a True Dragon like myself."

Rain has masterful skill and control over her magicules, including training from Velzard, she could temporarily stop, or freeze, all magicule movement. However, this drains a lot of her own magicules and mental strength. It's a weaker version of Velzard's ability to decelerate magicules, but this weaker version requires the user to manually manipulate their magicules to control (stop and slow down) the magicules of others and the environment.

For now, Rain has merely slowed down Velgrynd's magicules which prevented most of Velgrynd's magical attacks from connecting. However, as Velgrynd has the ability to accelerate magicules, Rain is finding it harder to defeat, let alone dodge Velgrynd who is toying with her at this point.

The main discrepancy that Guy noticed is Velgrynd's improved acceleration ability which is not meant to be since Velgrynd barely trains (or so he heard from Velgrynd herself). Guy trained Rain up to the point that she can overmatch Velgrynd's acceleration (before the evolution of her ultimate skill Raguel).

Velgrynd: "This is why Milim-chan's still immature, because of lazy demons like you."

Velgrynd shoots a beam of flame at Rain, who decelerates the beam and dodges left. Velgrynd who predicts this, laughs as Rain activates the lava trap planted by Velgrynd.

Rain: "GGGGNNNNNG!!!"

Rain is rendered immobile as her legs, going up to her knees is encased in searing hot magma that quickly hardened into obsidian. Rain was caught by the ambush as well as Velgrynd's superior acceleration of the magma cooling and hardening.

Velgrynd: "Hmph. I expected a little more, but as expected, I am just too strong."

Rain's maid uniform is completely seared and had holes at various areas where countless burn marks are seen. Velgrynd had also accelerated the burning inflicted on Rain which played a part in weakening her. On the contrary, Velgrynd was close to spotless. She regenerated all her wounds and any imperfections on her clothes caused by Rain.

Guy: "Jeez, what was up with Veldora? Why the hell did he look like that? Took all my willpower to stop myself from bursting into laughter. Or maybe I was attra- no that's not right, especially that characteristic laugh of his. Or her?"

Guy paces back and forth, his footsteps being the only sound in the vicinity.

Guy: "And that bastard Rudra too... well, I can roughly guess what happened... hahaha! See? I didn't need you all the time Ciel..."

Velzard: "Have you finally gone mad you redhead?"

Guy: "Hah? Of course not."

Velzard: "Well good. Because you'll need to do some real thinking. Rain's been killed."

Guy: "What?"

Veldora: "Yeah, me and Velzard saw Velgrynd melt up Rain. That was... *shivers* definitely not a good experience."

Guy: "Damn it. What was the point of having her take those tactician lessons?"

Velzard: "Well what will we do now? I'm still confident in taking down Velgrynd, even more so with Veldora's help."
