Siobhan was awoken by a body snuggling into her side. At first, she thought it was Vivian, but the body was way too small for her girlfriend. Siobhan cuddled into the now 5-year-old boy, who was holding her shirt tight. The time was 4:30am, so Siobhan went back to sleep, but just as she was about too, she felt a body trying to get close. She realized Vivian was trying to hug her in her sleep, but Jamie was in the way, and the last thing the blond wanted was her new son getting crushed. Siobhan carefully picked up the sleeping boy, placed him on the other side of her, moved over and pulled the boy close. Siobhan fell asleep with Jamie cuddling on one side, and Vivian cuddling her on the other side.
Vivian woke up in the morning to an empty bed. She got up and walked down to the kitchen, ready to make herself a coffee, before she was met with laughs and giggles. As Vivian was about to round the corner, she saw her beautiful black-haired boy run around, Siobhan chasing after him. Jamie was already dressed in his new school uniform. Siobhan was trying to brush his hair. Vivian raced after then, scooping her son in her arms, while Siobhan brushed his hair. "Wait, why is Jamie already ready?" Vivian looked at her girlfriend. "Viv, it's 7:45am?" Vivian's eyes widened as she looked at the time. "Shit!" She rushed to get ready. "Vivian! I'm due into the nursey, I'll drop him off-" Before Siobhan could finish, Vivian had already raced to get dressed. Vivian was ready within 15, and told Siobhan she would just buy a coffee.
The couple was public, so as Vivian ordered her coffee, she was not only holding Jamie but was holding Siobhan via her waist. Vivian grabbed two coffees, and Siobhan grabbed the hot chocolate and went to the car. It was the first day, so parents were allowed to stay for a bit. Siobhan and Vivian walked in, as Jamie finished his hot chocolate, Siobhan put the cup in the bin. Vivian tried to place Jamie down, but he ran straight to Siobhan. "Bonnie!" Siobhan picked him up and walked over to Vivian. The teacher asked the children to introduce their parents. "Right, now we have... Jamie Clark? Why don't you introduce your mummy and daddy to the class?" Siobhan stood back, as Vivian walked forward. She knew Siobhan was still a bit nervous to be introduced as a couple to everyone, so when they were 'public', they were public to the nursey. "I don't have a daddy! I have a Bonnie!" Jamie did not know that Siobhan was nervous. His teacher tilted her head. "What?" Jamie pointed to Siobhan. "Bonnie!" Siobhan covered her face. "Oh- are you two... a couple?" The teacher asked Vivian. "Um..." Vivian looked towards Siobhan. "Yes, we are..." Siobhan walked forward, grabbing the 5-year-old boy. "Well, excuse me for my mistake. Jamie, could you please introduce us to your mummy and..?" The teacher looked at Siobhan. "Bonnie, he calls me Bonnie." The teacher nodded. "Your mummy and Bonnie?" Jamie flashed a smile, telling his new class all about his mother and Siobhan.
The parents and children talked for a while, before setting their own ways. "Wow, that went a lot better than I thought it would, normally we'd get comments." Siobhan said, as Vivian drove to the nursey. "Yea, I thought so too." As they arrived, the couple shared a quick kiss before Siobhan got out and went inside. Marjorie spotted the blond. "Hello my love! How did Jamie settle in, I know he was a bit quiet here, did he cry? Was he okay?" Normally the short woman would be annoyed, but she soon learned Marjorie did truly care for the little family she had walked into. "He did amazing." Siobhan answered, a smile coming to her face. "And what about you two? No nasty comments? I know Autumn's been wanting a dig at someone?" Marjorie chuckled. "No, no comments, no stares, everything was okay, thank you for checking." Siobhan answered. "Great, well, I'll let you get on with it." Marjorie walked off to her office. The entire day, Siobhan was worrying about Jamie. She was used to just looking in the window and seeing him, but he was in a whole other building to her now, a few minutes away actually. She knew she couldn't just call the school, so she'd have to wait.
Hours went by and Vivian called. "Hey Bon! I'm here, let's get in and get Jamie." Siobhan rushed outside and got in. They sped to his school and walked into his classroom. "Ah! Hello! Nice to see you guys again!" Jamie's teacher walked up to them. "Hey, sorry, did we get your name?" Vivian asked. "Oh, well, I'm Ms. Tulip. but you can call me Maya if you want." Vivian nodded. "Um, Vivian, I did just want to ask you something?" Siobhan's head turned, wanting to know the question as well. "Is Jamie always so... distant?" They all looked over to Jamie, who was happily colouring by himself. "Yea, yea he's always been like that." Vivian answered, as she stared at her son in awe. "Is he known for swearing?" Siobhan decided to answer this one. "No, I worked in the same building as him for a while, he's never cussed." Ms. Tulip lowered her head. "He was caught doing it today..." Both women's head turned quick, neither of them had ever had a problem with Jamie swearing. "He called another kid-" Before she could finish, Jamie came rushing over. "Mama! What's a dyke!?" Vivian, Maya and Siobhan just stared at the kid. Where in the hell had he heard this word from?! "Jamie, we do not say that word. That is a bad word!" Siobhan told him, as she bent down to his level. "Then why did he call you that?" Jamie pointed to a parent, who was collecting his son. "He said that you would be better with him?" The clueless kid was just looking at Siobhan, who's mouth was open, as well as the other two women. "Right, Jamie, get your stuff for mama." Jamie ran to get his stuff, as Vivian rolled up her sleeves. "Viv-." Siobhan tried to stop her, but she was already outside.
A few minutes went by, and the man walked in. "I'm sorry for everything I said, I'll never say it again." He sped off, as Vivina rolled down her sleeves. "Let's go. Thanks for everything Maya." Vivian grabbed her son and walked out. "Sorry about her... she's a bit..." Siobhan struggled to find the words. "Protective?" Maya suggested, as Siobhan nodded. "Yes, given... my history, she's become very caring and protective. We'll see you tomorrow then." Siobhan waved as Maya waved back. "Well... this year will be one to remember." Maya told herself as she sat at her desk.
