I stared out at the sandy beach full jagged rocks that had surfaced from their watery prison once the tide was swept out further by the moon.
"Onca do you see this?"
"Shut up Vela you're the one who got us into this." Onca answered in her sleep as I very rudely slapped her on the side playfully to wake her up after her ignorant response forgetting her recent injury.
"Ow!" Onca screamed as she jolted up resulting in more pain from her stomach.
"Sorry! I forgot, can I help at all?" I asked as she laid back down wheezing in an uncomfortable breath.
"No what were you saying though?" Onca said kindly for once as I wondered if the pain was getting to her head.
"Look, when the tide moved out it left half of the rocks without water." I said as I looked at the rocks that would soon be drowning later that night.
"Why is that good?" Onca asked as she looked at me with a quizzical look.
"First of all it's pretty and second of all it could help us find things from the wreck!" I told her excitedly.
"You mean Aquila? Because I don't think the eggs would have survived that." Onca pointed out sadly as she shook her head.
"Well, yeah. But it's not like she's dead! You survived!" I shouted reassuringly as I pointed at Onca.
"Only because I got a piece of wood, but I'm not saying she's dead either." Onca answered trying to be positive but epically failing.
"Ok, I'm going to go look for her do you want to help?" I asked s Onca gave me a look. "Oh right the ribs." Was the last thing I said before I walked off into the dirty mud leaving the injured brown haired girl behind.
"Aquila!" I count inured from last night as I weaved my way between paths of rocks and avoided to short of gaps. "Aquila!" I shouted again as I kept walking.
"What?" A voice shouted as I picked up my pace and tried to reach the voice.
"Aquila?" I repeated in my screaming voice as I turned to the left to find the shore with a sober child resting herself on the edge of the only sandy piece of land.
"Vela?" The girl asked as she choked up some tears and wiped away the ones who had escaped.
"Daphne?" I asked the brown haired girl in the same orphan clothes as me except they were cut a little shorter at a desperate attempt to make them fit that hadn't worked. "What are you doing here?" I asked her as I kneeled down next to her and lifted her chin up when she tried to hide.
When she didn't respond I spoke to her in a gentle voice as I wiped away more runaway tears. "Why are you crying?" was my best attempt at comfort and conversation.
"I just found out that man who adopted me and then brought me back had adopted you!" She shouted you like I was an evil monster under head bed that had taken her favorite toy. Then the small girl tried to turn away but never was able to because I grabbed her flailing arm.
"He got rid of me to. He's an evil horrible man!" I shouted as I brought her close to me. Then she started giggling like I had said the funniest thing on earth.
"He is horrible!" She shouted in her shrill voice.
"Actually I'm trying to find one of my other friends he rejected. Do you want to help me look for her?" I asked as she jumped up.
"Yay! Adventure!" She shouted enthusiastically. I started the walk through the rocks with her as I started to wonder why Corvus would have wanted to adopt her.
"Aquila!" I started shouting again as Daphne looked up at me with her childish face then looked forward and opened her giant mouth.
"Aquila!" She screamed in such a high pitched voice I would've been surprised if Aquila didn't hear it.
"Ah!" Aquila's voice shouted and I ran to the base of the rock that it had come from.
"Aquila?" I shouted up to the rock as he face appeared and her waist length hair fell down on the right side of her sleepy head.
"Yes?" She asked normally.
"What are you doing?"
"Sleeping."
"Get down her! I shouted at her as she jumped down nimbly.
"Where's Onca?" Aquila asked as she got down.
"Probably on the beach thinking you're dead." I said as we started walking back and eventually made it to a relaxed and kind of sad looking Onca.
"Oh, she's not dead." Onca said as Aquila's eyes filled with rage. "You can do anything to me because I'm already hurt." Onca said pleased as she crossed her arms slowly.
Then Aquila looked at me for the truth as I nodded my head "Not all of us found a nice cozy rock and slept through the night." I said truthfully.
"Well I'm sorry I was tired!" Aquila shouted as a little girl interrupted.
"Were all of us adopted by Corvus?" She asked.
"Yes and he washed his hands of all of us." Aquila answered.
"Did he get rid of you guys too because you couldn't tell him where the stars led?" She asked not knowing what she just said.
"You told him about the path of flowers?" Aquila shouted as she turned on me.
"No! Well, yes. But not the truth." I answered and fulfilled her raging fury.
"What path of stars or flowers or whatever it is?" Onca frustratingly I erupted as she tried to think what else she didn't know.
"He said they led somewhere special but when I couldn't find them he told me I wasn't special." Daphne said innocently.
"Onca how about you tell Daphne the story of you greatness." Aquila said as she pulled me away from them. "Vela, why would Corvus think she was special?"
"I don't know maybe he thought she was me." I answered dumbfound.
"But he's smarter than that he knows you would have grown and he has technology." She shot me down.
"Then I don't know." I answered truthfully until the dream of last night came back to my mind. "Unless if it's in my dreams." I answered.
"Vela, I think it's about time you tell me about your dreams before me."
