We landed with a slight shake as my partner and I's not so great flying skills were proved. Our spaceship stopped right by the trees leaking flowers that I had weaved between in my dreams and the door leading to the mysterious entryway. Well, the latest wasn't in the best condition but it still remained visible in the never changing lighting. Everything seemed dimmer than I recalled though.
"We're here." I said before rushing out the automatic side door that swung open at my appearance.
"Whoa, this doesn't seem right." Onca whispered to Aquila, but obviously it wasn't quiet enough for my ears to miss. Tracing my fingers through the lines of bark on one of the flower trees I began to weave around them just like I had in what seemed to be a previous life. Making my way to the rubble covered door I stopped at the entrance.
This would change my entire perspective on, everything. I would finally see what the inside looked like, know who those voices are for sure, and possibly find out everything I had missed. Struggling over the fallen parts of building in my worn out clothes a dark hallway met me on the other side.
"Hello!" I shouted out desperately hoping someone was still here. Once the scream came back around in it's distorted echo form I concluded that no one was in shouting distance. Wandering through the evil looking hallways I peered around corners trying to figure out which way I had been pushed. Closing my eyes I started to feel the hands on my back and which way they towed me. I followed my feelings knowing I could finally know everything.
"Hello!" Daphne announced right behind my unsuspecting ears.
"Daphne! Your going to blast my ears off!" I snapped unpleasantly.
"Sorry, I just thought I heard someone." Daphne tragically admitted.
"You probably just heard my echo, it's fine we'll find..." my statement was canceled by the appearance of a stretched shadow across the floor.
"Vela? Delphinus! Is that you two!" a caring screech came from a woman with elegant brown hair matching mine and a nose that looked like Daphne's. Her shimmering eyes were an exact replica of both of ours.
"Delphinus? What do you mean?" Daphne uncertainly repeated.
"I'm your mother Delphinus! Well, I guess I don't really expect either of you to remember me. All you remember is this place." the woman said in the voice that pushed me through the dark.
"I remember your voice." I replied tenderly.
"Vela! Oh, we only sent you out once you were old enough. But Delphinus! Your were just a babe! I'm dearly sorry, we never planned for any of this to happen." after seeing our expressions she continued."I see we have much to talk about, follow me." she said walking back to where she had come.
"What do you mean by 'we'?" Daphne, well I'm not completely sure what her name is anymore, questioned as we strolled through the dim light.
"Your father and I of course, but I don't mean to overwhelm you yet so let's withhold questions until we get to the room." the wait wasn't short as we entered a small room full of computer monitors and a large window showing the cloudless sky, instead I could see right into space. We sat down at a round table accompanied with four chairs that we sat into.
"Are you hungry, I have earth scrambled eggs in case you aren't ready for our food." she said sweetly handing us all a plate of cooked eggs.
Under my breath I thought "Dumb eggs." as they brought back so many memories. I still scooped them up despite my thoughts.
"My name is Delphinus?" the nervous child said in her tiny voice making her sound more vulnerable than ever.
"Yes it is darling." my, our, mother walked to the window then pointed at a large star in the sky. "That star's name is Delphinus, we named you after her to complete our family square." she finished.
"What do you mean by family square?" I was becoming more confused by the second.
"Well, my name is Gemini after this star." she indicated one right next to Delphinus. "And your father's name is Orion, right there." she pointed at one right next to Gemini. "And Vela is right there." my star completed our family, we were a square brought together by space but brought apart by nothing.
"Where is our father?" I finally asked. "And what happened to this planet?"
"We sent you away first Vela. All you had was the memory of stars leading to this planet. All this planet's people were fearing war, that living here was starting to become too dangerous. So you left with the ability to keep this planet in memory. But when our fears were realized we sent Delphinus away with the same memories. She was so young though that we couldn't be sure if she would be able to hold the memory. So we sent her to where we believed you were. Then everyone on this planet abandoned, including me and your father, we all separated. I have come back and just recently sent out a message to your father's ship to return, he hasn't sent anything back yet though." my sister and I tried to keep up with the history but it was all so much.
"Why don't we talk about something else for now?" I said putting down my sparkling fork.
"I agree, this should be a joyous rejoice." my enthusiastic mother said."So, do you two have any interests?"
"Well I like to..." I was almost instantly cut off.
"That's where you two went! What kind of room is this... am I.. umm... bye!" Onca yelled running back out to Aquila.
"Who was that?" Gemini eagerly asked. Once again I couldn't respond as I was cut off by a blaring electronic horn blowing throughout the room. The lady slid on her chair to some controls and pushed a green button. "Hello." she said to a blank screen.
"Give us your coordinates if you ever want to see him again." a voice asked. Then a man was thrust into view looking so uncomfortable it was depressing. After my mother pressed a yellow button the voice came back. "Thank you, we will see you soon." then the screens turned back to normal.
I nervously gasped, "Corvus is coming."
