Faded and Forgotten

"Well I say we go back to the mainland and tell someone." Aquila stated as we all crossed our arms and huddled together to fend off the icy grip riding the salty breeze.

"What would we say? Some kind of alien captured us and kept us prisoner while he flew up to search in space?" I asked Aquila feeling like we didn't belong anyway because anyway we put it we would be in a place that wasn't home. Onca then got up and raised the sail that wasn't going to bring exactly to the dock we had come from but should at least take us to shore.

"Well, when you put it that way it doesn't sound like a good idea." Aquila prickly said as I noticed in her eyes a look of uncertainty for the first time in our escape.

"How about we just stay on land until we figure out what to do?" Onca sat back down after the sail was raised and caught onto the soft icy breeze.

"Ok but just to inform you we have a long ride back with the little wind we have caught." Aquila answered "So I think we should think here." she said obviously hoping someone else had an idea.

"No we have had a long day I think two of us should rest while the other one of us is a look out." I disagreed as I longed for a nap to keep me from cracking under the pressure finding a way out of Corvus's claws put me under.

"Fine but I'm taking first watch because I'm the most mature." Aquila childishly claimed as she crossed her freezing arms and watched the water ahead. I started to stare into her cold blue eyes reflecting the waves searching for a drop of hope to splash into her but nothing came instead just a dying sparkle.

"Ok, well I'm sleeping miss mature." Onca retorted as she fell back and pretended to instantly fall into sleep not noticing anything that was happening.

"Wake me up next." I told Aquila as I laid down and focused on the sight of the rocking stars and the sound of calm waves. Sleep soon overtook me as the salty air left my senses.

I was being rushed through a foggy hallway as parts of the walls and floor were dotted with black, faded away. Two pairs of familiar hands gripped my shoulders as the owner's feet rushed me further. I was soon plunged into complete darkness with specks of grey and some button like shapes. Soon I felt a rough strap chain me to something as I was laid down. I took a quick intake of breath as the straps suddenly tightened and kept me far from freedom in the unknown place. A faded sound started but it was to far to reach almost like I was at the end of a tunnel and someone else was at the other side making a sound that echoed towards me but not in the same clearness.

Then through the darkness and faded sounds the pair of people leaned in above me and showed their faded faces. "Vela many people will try to take the gift we have given you but remember it is only for the three of us." Then they left as I was plunged back into darkness but this time I was free. I moved my arms as I noticed I was weightless in the darkness plunging fear into me of the monsters just out of sight.

"Hello?" I shouted wondering if anyone else was hiding in the gloom. Then a clear noise responded as a million shinning lights crashed together over me. They came closer as I recognized the shining shapes of stars and planets coming down to destroy me. Except this time I could feel something was missing, their will to crush their last love.

"Vela it's your turn to watch." Aquila tiredly said as she sat just long enough to make sure I was up then she was out.

"Yep." I said to myself as I rubbed the dream from my eyes and looked forward wondering what those people had given me, and who they were. I thought I had dreamt all my memories back into my head from when I had first been able to remember. But apparently there was a memory pushed into the back of my mind, kept in the dark until it had finally been brought back.

But why wasn't it brought back like all my other memories? Was it because I never knew of this memory? The memory must have been kept away from the old me I guess. But before I could wonder more about the memory I had regained I saw a light from a tower pointing towards the sea just for me. I quickly ran to the back of the boat and grabbed the ruder and steered away from the town.

As I wondered if where I should pull the boat in and if I should wake the others up something sharp and deadly caught my attention.

"Aqui..!" I shouted as the weak boat took a full on hit from a shark tooth looking stone.

"Where's the bread?" Onca questioned as she woke up from her dream of food.

"There's no bread you...!" But before I could finish my rude statement all of the regaining consciousness girls were tipped off the boat that was soon torn to bits of scraps.

I tried to scream as salty water filled my lungs to the brim and tried to suffocate my body that desperately searched for which way was up or down. The difference was up had air and down had deadly water that could capture anyone, even my friends.

I desperately tried to fight the quick approaching current as I finally breached the surface but couldn't find a glimpse of Vela or Aquila. Before I could worry though a rock approached my body with bone crunching force. This time my scream was met with cool air that was much more pleasant than water. I didn't focus on the pleasantry though as I heard a mirrored scream from far away that sounded like the same voice of Aquila.

I quickly grabbed a piece of wood that crashed into me as the current took me closer to shore and to more encounters with rocks. As I met the next one I held the already broken piece of wood up to my chest as it kept me safe until I was thrown onto the rocky beach glad to be free of the water's hold. I still had enough strength to move from the water's edge and up to the top of the rocks where I lay clutching two of my possibly broken ribs hoping the others were ok.

But as I stared out into the sea I noticed a bright light in the sky, something that looked like a craft that would carry a person into space and back onto earth. That person was also probably a raging Corvus soon to burst his fury as he landed on his almost deserted island.
