"Can I help hold Onca?" Daphne pouted.
"I don't need to be dropped anymore today kid so how about instead you make yourself useful and try to find this boat thing faster." Onca snapped, her voice dripping with weakness.
"Guys I think we're all just getting a little tired but let's just focus on getting to the island before Corvus and his monsters wake up instead of butting off each other's heads." Aquila snapped at Onca but quickly changed her thought to a general statement. Then the trees around us started thinning until we were left on a deserted beach.
"Finally we're here!" I puffed as sand started to jump up into my worn shoes.
"Ok lay me down gently then you all can venture to find whatever it is you wanted." She tiredly said as her eyes flicked closed and her breathing deepened.
"We can't just leave her on the beach." Aquila stated as she looked at my face silhouetted by the setting sun sending pink rays to all the lingering clouds.
"Why not?"
"What if Corvus comes back? It'll be that much easier to find us." Aquila answered my thought giving away that she had thought deeply of this.
"How about we put her on that?" Daphne pointed to an ancient looking boat tied to a an equally aged dark timber dock.
"Ok then. I'll grab her legs you can get her arms and let's toss her in." And so we walked steadily along the unstable sand as the last rays of light touched the earth before pulling away, a sign for all able to go to bed and obviously Onca had read the message long before it was sent. Aquila and I lowered the sleeping nuisance about as gracefully as two rabid alligators would then sat for a moment, regaining our breath before we went to explore.
"Daphne you can come with me." I said but as soon as I looked behind me at the moonlight ocean where the small girl lay I realized she had joined Onca in slumber.
"Let's put her in too." Aquila motioned, and with that she was safely resting as my friend and I split up to both sides of the wind blown beach.

There was no sun on that rainy night. Instead the air was full of ghost like fog floating in the starlight air as a knock awoke the entire home."Oh my! I've heard of, and have had babies dropped off but never in my mind would I imagine a child to be left on my doorstep!" As she started to fuss around with the girl's wet clothes and soaked hair the Keeper finally noticed something on the girl's chest half washed out by rain but parts of it miraculously remained legible. The card looked like D, a very smudged a, a p with a line going both up and down on both sides flowing in an inky mess to the left, an h, a very stretched n, and that's when the rest of the card becoming nothing more than a picture expensive therapists use.
"So I'm guessing your Daphne. Too bad your last name was lost." Then she took the young girl to an empty single room placing her on the bead before finally locking the door from the outside and going back into her own sleep.

"Onca. Onca?" I asked as I pushed on her shoulder."Once I smell eggs I'll wake up." She groggily said as she turned over,
"Onca! Seriously you've got to wake up!" I then jumped onto her back digging my uncut claws in.
"Owe! Ok, sheesh what do you want?" Then she froze as she looked around at blinking lights and many items she had never seen before.
"Hey look, a first aid kit!" I shouted as my small hands took out a red container hidden under the seat I front of me. Then I I clipped it and took out a silver bottle labeled 'Healing Spray'.
"How did you know that was in there?" Onca questioned as I shot her with the mist.
"I don't know." I replied "It was like I just new. Oh and don't move for a little while the spray takes a bit to finish working."
"Ok, where are Aquila and Vela?"
"Well they put you in here when you fell asleep and I must have joined you."
"Ok well how about you look out for them?" So I stuck my head out the roof but immediately pulled back in. "What is it?"
"Corvus coming back! Hide!" Then there was a shuffle as I moved the first aid kit back under the seat and the joined it in its crammed hollowed out spot. While I jammed in Onca gently crammed herself under the seat I front of her. For now we were alone in the high tech boat with one seat in the front behind a glass screen revealing the outside world. Behind that seat were two more identical my cushioned chairs which hid two terror-stricken children.
After an uncomfortable moment of silence the boat then added three furious people. "How could they have gotten away?" Corvus yelled to himself as he sat at the front seat and started up the motor.
Without an answer from his silent helpers he continued."We'll come back later but this time with lethal weapons. We must teach them a lesson. We'll get rid of the earthbound one, she never belonged in this matter anyway." Corvus spat at his men.
"Should we ever hurt the others?" One of the goons questioned.
"NO!" Corvus screamed as I could almost imagine the fire behind his eyes.
At that moment Onca and I both realized something important, also life threatening.

I finally wandered back to the beaten up dock as I had almost given up all hope of finding Corvus's boat. I was greeted with a terrified Aqulia butting her nails nervously, waiting for me. "What is it?" I instantly asked wanting to know what could be so horrible."Look!" She shouted, almost in tears, as she pointed to the missing boat. And with it two of the most important people in my life.
