That name to most means royalty. But to her it meant nothing. Lynni hated the way she was. Being a Kook was torture. Fancy parties, big houses. Not her forte. So, how does a Kook change the way her life is? She befriends a pogue...
THE BONEYARD. The place of parties where all are welcome. The Pogues from the Cut, the Kooks from Figure Eight, and finally the Tourons. It was one of the only parties where everyone got along, somewhat. Every time Sarah and Lynni went to a boneyard party, they never saw a fight break out which was surprising. Kooks and Pogues are natural enemies. Tourons are just in the OBX for a week on vacation with their families, totally clueless. Chum for the sharks more-or-less.
Parties at the boneyard were the only parties Lynni somewhat enjoyed. She wasn't forced to drink or smoke anything and she was able to hangout and conversate with whoever she pleased, most of the time, that is. It was the one night where she left like she actually fit in.
Sarah parked on the road in front of the beach and placed her sunglasses on the top of her head. The girls were a little late so there were already cars there. Lynni got out of Sarah's car, also sliding her glasses on top of her head with herself, Sarah, Cici and Estelle, who they picked up on the way, sat in the car.
"Okay, where's the beer!" Estelle jumped out with a smile as she closed the passenger door of the car.
"We just got here, Elle. Slow your role." Cici scoffed as she stepped out of the car.
The four girls began walking towards the beach in a line. Cici observed the scene, taking in the sounds of laughter, and the smell of ocean water, beer and weed smoke. She then noticed Topper and Kelce standing over with their friends.
"Lynni," Cici linked their arms together and looked at her. She glanced over in Topper's direction and Lynni looked for a few seconds before staring back towards the beach. "If they are here then he's probably here too."
"I highly doubt it. I mean I texted him to see if he was gonna be here but I never heard anything back. He read it but he was probably too busy to text back." Lynni shrugged before continuing. "And besides, I'm not here for him."
Cici's eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she looked to the girl on her left, "What do you mean?"
"I mean, yes, Sarah was going to drag me here anyway, but I guess part of me came here on my own being." Lynni began, "I came to have fun. Not worry about someone who is more than likely not going to show."
