ROCK MUSIC PLAYED ON THE RADIO OF THE Twinkie as the Pogues drove down the road to the rendezvous point to meet up with Sarah. Lynni sat on the bench seat in the back of the Twinkie as Kiara sat on the seat behind John B. JJ was leaning against the bench seat, Lynni playing with the loose curls on the nap of his neck simultaneously, and Pope sat across from JJ with his back pressed against the passenger seat. Kiara turned to Lynni, whose right hand was in JJ's hair and her left hand was fidgeting with the golden necklace that was laced around her neck, her eyes locked on the view outside.
Kiara leaned in the seat and lightly tapped Lynni on her leg, grabbing the other girl's attention from the window. Lynni turned her entire body to face Kiara. "I'm sorry." Kiara apologized, verbally this time.
Lynni's head tilted slightly, confused as to why she was apologizing. "For what?"
"For calling you out earlier." Kiara's eyes were sincere, like she really meant what she was saying. "I was mad at John B and got caught up in the moment and I snapped, I hadn't realized what I had said until I looked at you and saw your expression." She whispered, leaning closer to the girl so Lynni could hear her over the extremely loud rock music.
"Kie," Lynni stared. "It's fine. I'm okay." Lynni smiled and sent the girl a reassuring smile.
"Promise?" Kiara asked and stuck her pinky finger out for Lynnianna. The girls' fingers interlocked.
"Promise."
Kiara smiled before speaking, "Good, because I don't consider you to be a Kook. We're Pogues." Kiara finished and then the van came to a stop, alerting the girls that they had arrived at their destination.
"Alright." John B said and put the van in park.
JJ sat up right from his previous position and slid open the side door with a slam. "Hit it, boys! We're goin'. Recon mission."
As Pope went to get out of the vehicle, John B turned around to face the others in the back. "Yo, uh...so, I think I'm gonna do this one by myself..." he stuttered as he turned to Kiara. His face was serious. "—tonight." He finished.
