Demetri and Felix looked at me amused.
"Speaking of Jane," I looked at them, "How she doin'?" I asked.
They looked at each other, "Disturbed is a decent word to describe it," Felix said.
How impressive is it that I could possibly disturb a vampire? Yeah, definitely fucked in the head. I mean, is that bad though? Possibly.
"I should probably talk to her, shouldn't I?"
They both nodded at the same time.
"Go talk to her, we will clean this mess up. Where should we put... her?" Felix said.
I shrugged. "Tie her up, toss her in a closet. Just make sure she doesn't get away,"
"Of course, we wouldn't let your little friend get away. That would ruin the fun," Felix smiled. It was a very creepy smile. I rolled my eyes at the word 'friend.'
There was blood all over my hands and clothes. I thought for a moment before heading inside. Would the blood bother her? I mean, she is a vampire, and I don't really know how that works and all. Remind me to ask about that. I thought. Just to be safe, and to not disturb her even more I decided to go upstairs to change my clothes and try to get rid of all the blood on me. I could hear footsteps in the living room. It was most definitely her pacing.
"I shouldn't have let her do that Alec," I faintly heard Jane from the living room.
Her voice faded as I silently walked up the stairs. I went to the bathroom and took off my clothes. I put them in the bathtub. Then, I went to the sink and scrubbed my hands multiple times until the blood was completely off. There was blood on my face as well. I grabbed a washcloth and scrubbed my face until clean. My face was now raw from scrubbing it with a towel, so I grabbed my favorite moisturizer and slathered it onto my face. After I tossed the towel into the bathtub, I put a hoodie and sweatpants on and headed downstairs.
I stood at the base of the stairs watching her for a moment. I took a deep breath and walked over to her. She turned around to face me. She placed her hands on both my cheeks.
"Are you okay?" She asked looking at me.
"I'm perfectly fine Jane," I said to her.
"I mean... are you really, okay? You just... did... that? Are you okay? Mentally?" She came over to me placing her hand on my chest, over my heart. "Your heart is racing,"
I chuckled, of course my heart is racing. "I'm okay, just a lot of adrenaline," I said. She opened her mouth and that moment I knew I was in for it.
"How can you be okay after that?! You literally just cut someone's tongue out and stabbed someone, not once but twice! You aren't upset? Rattled? You're human, humans don't just do that. They don't torture people. Things like that should traumatize you. Any human would be traumatized by that. And you just come back in here like absolutely nothing happened. Like you didn't just torture someone," she said taking a breath. "This is our job to discipline, to punish, to kill. Not yours."
She has clearly not heard about human serial killers. Humans torture and kill people sometimes. "You done?" I asked looking at her.
She took a deep breath and nodded.
I didn't say anything for a bit, just in case she wanted to add on anything for her tandem I wanted to say 'I could do worse' but I don't think she would want to hear it. But it is true I could do a lot worse.
"You should've let us handle this," She added.
"Jane, how many times are you going to say that?" I asked raising my brow.
