chapter 4

Today was the big day, the competition was today and I was really overwhelmed and excited at the same time. I have to be there in 2 hours. I was still in my pajamas and decided to stretch because I didn't want to hurt myself during the competition. After that I got showered and put on my team leotard. I had 30 minutes left before I left and climbed the stairs to wake up Joey, he looked so cute when he slept. I said joey time to get up its my big day and you said you didn't want to miss it joey said whaaatt oh okay. I scooped him up and turned on the bathtub trying to get it the perfect temperature once It got there I got him a towel and soap ready for him. I left the room and told him to get in the bath tub. I went downstairs to fix joey and me up some eggs and bacon just as I heard him yell MACKKKKENZIEE I NEED HELPPPP. I walked up the stairs and opened the bathroom door to see joey trying to get the shampoo bottle open. I opened the shampoo bottle for him and but a big blob of shampoo on his head as he rubbed it around to make him look like he a big Mohawk, we both laughed as I said okay try to finish up breakfast is ready downstairs.5 minutes later he was downstairs and I told him we had 15 minutes till we had to leave. I went upstairs put the proper team make up and shimmer on my face along with out team logo glittery tattoo on my cheek. I went downstairs to joey who was already ready with his shoes and everything. He told me he wanted a piggy back ride so I picked him up and we headed out the door. I drove and on the way I let joey listen to his favorite radio station. Once we arrived,there was already almost 100 cars there which made me even more nervous. I walked inside to see Daniel waiting for. I took my position and ran through my routine twice. Then I got in line and the competition started. I waved at Ryan, Joey, and Destiney up in the stands and they waved back. Finally  was my turn and to my surprise I nailed every one of my routines, and I won first place! Afterwards I hugged Ryan goodbye in a friendly way and took Destiney and joey to the library Destiney pick out 8 books because she loved reading and I told joey he could pick out two big boy chapter books in the  kids section, he was good at reading for his age so I decided he was ready for a 65 page book. Later that night Destiney left and I tucked joey into his bed as me and him switched off reading for 4 chapters of his new book. I thought to myself, today was a good day and fell asleep in joeys bed with him curled up against me.
