Chapter 34: STOP POUTING
I was pacing back and forth inside my room, clutching my phone to my chest. But then again, Nuke sounded serious when he told Emerson not to mention that he was here to his brother.
Are they cool, or was there tension between them?
Maaaring may sama ng loob si Nuke sa kapatid dahil hindi siya kinilala bilang anak ng kanilang ama, or for having the life he was denied.
I also don't know how Dominic would react once he found out what his brother had done, nor could I predict how Nuke would respond if he discovered that someone had told Dominic about his whereabouts. But if his resentment ran deep, walang makapagsasabi kung ano ang maaari niyang gawin.
I felt trapped between two impossible choices. But the fact that Thalia was AM's sister made me feel responsible for her safety. I couldn't just ignore what was happening. Emerson had also said that he wasn't in the right state of mind. Paano kung masaktan niya si Thalia?
AM would be absolutely devastated if something happened to her sister. I am sure she loved her just as much as the siblings she grew up with and took care of, even though she had only met Thalia recently. If I stayed quiet and something terrible happened to her, hindi ko mapapatawad ang sarili ko. But if I spoke up, there was no telling what chaos it would unleash between Dominic and Nuke.
I exhaled sharply, gripping my phone tighter. Ano ba'ng tamang gawin ko?
My heart jumped in my chest when my phone suddenly rang. I bit my lower lip as I answered the call.
Dominic's face appeared. He looks exhausted yet still impossibly handsome. Dark circles shadowed his deep-set eyes, evidence of his lack of sleep, and the beginnings of stubble framed his sharp jawline, even though it had only been a few days since he left. He looked rugged and rough around the edges, yet effortlessly alluring.
His hair was loosely tied, as if he had done it in a rush, but somehow, it worked to his advantage. Strands had escaped the knot, falling around his face in a way that made him look even more roguish. I hope he doesn't get it cut anytime soon. I will have more to hold on to next time he has his face trapped between my legs.
"Hey, sugar. Have you had lunch yet?" His voice was smooth, tinged with warmth, as if just seeing me made his exhaustion lighter.
The golden afternoon sunlight streamed through the window behind him, casting a soft glow on his face. It makes him look almost ethereal.
Whatever I was thinking before his call had now completely forgotten.
"Hindi pa," I answered with a small pout, shifting to sit at the edge of the bed.
What I would give just to have my hands on his jaw, to feel the roughness of his stubble against my fingertips, to tangle my fingers in his hair and tug them.
"How about you?"
A low sound rumbled from his chest before his voice dropped an octave, turning dangerously soft. "Stop pouting while I'm not there to kiss you, or I'll have to do something about it when I get back."
