Rori was overjoyed about Elliere and Mercy coming to stay for awhile as he recalled. She squealed down the phone about how she couldn't wait to see him and his chosen mate and of course to introduce him to her pups as he was considered an uncle. He didn't tell her his whole reason for coming and he wouldn't until they got there. He didn't need her worrying herself to death before they even arrived.
Mercy was quiet when she returned from inside The Wolf's Den aside from pulling out her phone and letting her mom know she'd be away for awhile on a mini vacation. It had sounded like Vivien was trying to pry to figure out why Mercy had suddenly decided to take a trip out of the blue, but his mate had easily avoided answering the questions and quickly hung up after promising to call every day. She then turned to Elliere and motioned for him to lead the way.
The walk to Mercy's house was silent and Elliere worried she was angry with him again. Though she didn't look angry nor did she exactly look sad. Her facial expression was blank and he couldn't detect any feeling radiating off her to give him a hint. He didn't say a word though as he feared she'd snap at him or shatter apart like fragile glass.
They reached her house and she slid inside while Elliere opted to wait outside. He figured it would be best as he recalled the things that had happened last time he had come inside. She was back in a few minutes, a bag slung over her shoulder and the emotionless facade still in place. He was growing anxious as they slid into her car until she finally spoke.
"Where are we going?" She asked, her voice hollow. He flinched, an ache ripping into his chest.
"Mercy..."
"Just tell me where we're going so we can get there," she said, a bit firmer, her hazel eyes dull.
"No, not until you look at me," Elliere almost growled, his anxiety getting the better of him. "Not until you tell me why you're acting this way."
"Maybe because I hadn't considered the fact you could die!" She snapped, her hazel eyes blazing as she whipped her head towards him. "It's not every day you know werewolves or Lupus exist and then know they can also die!"
"Mercy... we don't die easily.." Elliere's voice softened and he went to reach towards her.
"That isn't the point!" She said, her voice cracking. "It's- it's the fact that I've realized I actually care about you. A lot."
He couldn't take it then, he leaned over and scooped her into his lap. She sucked in a harsh breath as a sob escaped her. His heart now ached with the knowledge that he had made her cry in some way.
"I'm sorry, I'm not indestructible though I am tough to kill. And I'm sorry I had to tell you, but I'm not sorry to know you care nor am I sorry to take you somewhere to keep you safe," he murmured, rubbing her back as the salty smell of her tears began to ebb away.
"Okay, now will you tell me where we're going?" She said, wiping away tear stains.
"Only after this," he replied, brushing her silky hair away from her face.
Mercy glanced up questioningly, "After wha-"
Elliere's lips claimed hers, effectively sealing off her question and inducing a wave of pleasurable shocks between them. It was only a matter of time before the bond was sealed entirely. She cared and so did he.

They pulled up to Rori's pack house and the very second his bootclad feet hit the ground, the front door was flung open. His eyes widened at the two little Lupus who ran straight towards him with smiles and happy eyes. They had never met him, but the excitement that waved from them was immense. He noted with fondness that Rori and Roman had been lucky; having gotten a little boy and a girl. The girl had blue eyes like Roman's and his brown curls while the boy carried Rori's pretty sea green eyes and ashy blonde hair. It was an unusual sight to any human knowing the parents and how gene pools worked, but Elliere was not, the parents to these children were not and the kids themselves weren't human either.
Elliere thought for sure he was going to have his arms loaded with one and half year olds, but Rori's sharp voice rang out, halting the smiling kids. Their smiles dropped and they sulked as they slowly walked back to their mother. Elliere sent Rori a grateful smile who, after frowning at her children for almost running off, beamed at him. She then tilted her head to gaze behind him, at Mercy who Elliere hadn't forgotten, but merely had been distracted by the thought of oncoming kids.
He turned and looked at Mercy. She was gazing past him, at Rori and seemed rather tense. After a minute though, she relaxed and he looked to see Roman, arms securely wrapped around his mate. He glanced back at Mercy questioningly, but she didn't meet his gaze as she grabbed her bag.
He grabbed his own bag and just as Mercy rounded the car, he reached out and gently grasped her arm. She stilled and he pulled her in gently, leaning close to her ear.
"What's wrong? Nervous?" he asked, pondering over her body language and facial expression moments ago.
"...A little," she had hesitated and he knew it was something else as well, but didn't want to pry when he needed to greet his friend and introduce her and her mate to his own.
"They're nice, you'll see," he murmured, squeezing her into a hug and kissing her forehead though Elliere himself was rather nervous to be back in pack territory, he wouldn't show it though.
Together they walked hand in hand towards the happy couple and pups for a long awaited reunion on Elliere's part.
