Elliere was traveling again to another city. He never stayed in one place for very long for fear another pack would try to take him in or rip him apart for being a Lone Wolf. He didn't want anything to do with pack life now that his previous pack had been ripped apart, his mate he chose taken from him and claimed by another before his eyes, his parents bodies dead before him. He couldn't handle it or imagine running one and ending up like his mother and father. He preferred to be alone now and he never wanted to be apart of something that big again.

He blew out a sigh as he gazed at the landscape around him. Mostly forest on one side and farmland on another. It wasn't the most spectacular sight he's ever seen, but Elliere had to get to this other city. He couldn't remain at the one he'd just been to... the pack members there had been looking at him with far too much interest.

As he stared at the forest, glittering eyes shown out at him in the fading daylight. Elliere tightened his grip on his bag and began to walk faster. They were watching and he needed to leave, fast. He felt almost panicky and he couldn't figure it out. The pack wasn't going to attack him, he was leaving though he supposed watching him leave would put him on edge.

Minutes later, a cry rang out and one that was not his own, but from the nearby pack. He spun towards the sound, but couldn't see through the thick trees even with his wolf sight. Another cry caught in the air, but was soon silenced.

What the...?

Suddenly pain slammed into Elliere and soon his own cry was echoing into the air with the others and he was landing onto the hard ground, footsteps sounding in his ears before he blacked out.

**

He awoke.. but not where he had blacked out. Oh, no.. Elliere was in a cage. The cage was clear, but he knew he was in one because a few others were in them and banging their fists into the plastic-y substance. Many it looked as though were trying to shift. Elliere felt his own need to and immediately fire raced through his veins. He cried out, dropping to the floor in a pained heap. Something was clearly wrong with him.. he didn't know what, but he didn't have time to wonder.

Noises outside his confinement alerted him and he jerked his head up, eyes taking in the scene before him. He watched as Lupus were grabbed from their cages, all too weak to fight back from whatever was wrong with them, and dragged down the hall to doors where they disappeared.

They never returned from those doors.

Hours went and passed, the men and women taking more and more Lupus and never returning with them. Elliere was worried about what would happen if they came for him, but he was beginning to grow exhausted. He was fighting with his body not to shift and every time he almost would give in, his body would alight in fire. Now he sagged on the ground, weak and hungry. His eyes slipped closed tiredly, but before sleep could really pull him under, the door to his cage was flung open.

"Grab him," a man growled.

"Who are you people?!" Elliere snapped, a growl coming out, but the fire warned him to stay human.

"We are probably your worst nightmare, mutt."

"We're the Jaecars," the other answered and they both grabbed him, dragging him from the cell.

The... Jaecars? He had heard of them, a human group formed out of the hatred of supernaturals. They wanted to destroy them all... would that happen to him?

Oh god.

He tried to struggle, but they easily continued dragging him through those doors in which he seen no one return. He felt himself panic, but there was nothing he could do as he was pulled through those doors. He seen then, that the doors let to an operating station.. the station appeared utterly clean and not quite so horrid as he would've imagined. He glanced around and seen only one figure standing in the room aside from the men holding him. The person was a she and by the looks of it...appeared to be a doctor as she was dressed in a white lab coat.

Elliere was thrown onto a steel table, the wind knocked from him and was immediately strapped with metal restraints. Fear now washed over him in crashing waves, but it didn't stop him from looking into the woman's cold, blue eyes.

"Who are you and what are you going to do to me?" He managed to snarl out.

"Who I am doesn't matter though someday I might tell you.. as for what's going to happen to you. Well, we're going to fix you."

**

In the days to follow, Elliere would endure the worst pain he had ever felt, having survived the tests. It was worse than his first shift. He started off dizzy and a bit nauseous, then slowly his bones began to ache as if he were going to shift. After that his body literally was split between the aches of a new shift and the fiery serum keeping him human. Until finally his body gave in, blacking out, and reawakening as a new Lupus. It freaked him out, looking down and seeing him standing but furry and having a tail.

He knew then that he'd never be the same. His life had changed all the way around now and there would be no going back even if he had wanted it.
