She was beautiful and everything he ever wanted. She had long black curls and the most beautiful blue eyes, her body was slim and built from all the training and Lupus genes she had. She was going to be the one he kept for life, she was his mate... or so he planned that for her anyways.

He was twenty-one and due to take over his father's pack within a year. But before he could, in his pack, he needed to have a mate unlike others. However, it was like fate had given him the most lucky hand ever. He had known her for years, she was his parents friends' daughter who lived in the pack. They had grown up together and as he turned eighteen he began to see her in a light that wasn't very sisterly. By nineteen they had been seeing each other for six months already, twenty they had essentially mated already, all that was missing was the marks that sealed them together for life. Now he was twenty-one and had come out to his parents and hers about them becoming mates. His parents were ecstatic as well as hers. He couldn't have asked for anything more perfect. Now in a year, he was going to be leader with Layla by his side.

He was smiling as he gazed at her smooth bare back as she slept in his bed beside him. She didn't wear his mark just yet, but it was only a matter of days. He stroked his fingertips over her smooth skin and reveled in the way she arched into his touch, a bond had already somewhat formed from them being sexually active. He loved her, he knew he did and he was more than ready to live his entire life with Layla. He also knew without any doubts she loved him, it shone in her eyes and radiated out of her whenever she said those small, but precious three words.

Sweet Layla... He mused as his eyes continued to take in the small details of the slopes, curves and smoothness of her back, knowing she was going to awaken soon.

She awoke with a blissful sense about her, one that made the young wolf known as Elliere grin with unhindered happiness. This was going to be his whole world and when they had children, they would be his whole world. He simply could not wait. As Layla rolled to face him, he quickly enveloped his mate in a hug and peppered kisses over every inch of her face, loving the way she laughed. He loved everything about her...then.

With a groan and a jerk, Elliere awoke from his high induced sleep with an annoyed start. He was dreaming of her again and he hated it. He hated remembering how beautifully perfect his life had once been to wake up and realize that it just wasn't that way anymore. He gritted his teeth to the point of pain and stood rapidly.

He headed to his kitchen, in hopes he could eat away his memories. He knew it could only be so long before the lock on his memories labelled That Day burst open and he was flooded once again on just how his life went from a ten to a flat out zero in mere hours. However, he could still sure as shít try to keep them contained and Elliere knew he'd do everything, but his mental strength was fading fast and the proverbial lock on those memories was rusting more and more, just waiting for the worst time to spring open.
