"This is Aster and Muraco," Rori murmured, stroking a hand lovingly over first the girl's head and then the boy's as she listed their names off. "Named after Roman's mother and the other my choosing. Probably would've been my father if I had known his name."
They were standing in the living room, the pack having been warned that Elliere and his chosen mate would be coming to stay. Rori had politely asked them all to stay away for awhile until they'd caught up and adjusted which Elliere had thanked Rori for many times in the five minutes they had been in the door -- after the couple had hugged both Elliere and Mercy to their slight surprise.
"Lovely names," Elliere rumbled, smiling at the grinning Lupus pups before they took off to play. "This is Mercy, my chosen mate. Mercy, this is Rori and Roman, not quite the leaders of this pack, but I get the feeling they will be someday."
"Nice to meet you," Mercy murmured softly, giving them a slight smile.
"It's more than great to meet you," Rori said brightly.
"We didn't think the old man would have a mate," Roman chuckled, but it was cut short when Elliere shot him a glare.
"I am not old, just older than the both of you," he growled lowly.
"Mhm.. anyways, I've told Yorik and Annalise you'll be staying and they've stationed you up in a guest room. The pack will be mingling about in an hour or so and for the Lupus it's a raw hunt tonight if you're interested Elliere, otherwise Bree, our kids and Zelene, Daimon's mate are eating here as they are all human like."
"Thank you, very much. However, I'm not just here for a visit, Rori. I'm here because I think someone might be after Mercy...to take her from me," Elliere said, scrubbing a hand through his shaggy black hair.
Rori's sea green eyes turned hard. "Someone?"
"Supernatural."
"I see. Stay as long as you like then, until you feel it's safe to leave," she said quietly. "I'll be sure to inform Yorik."
Elliere nodded, gave another thanks and then swiftly laced his fingers with Mercy's and led the way upstairs. Elliere followed his nose, literally, to a room that smelled least like any Lupus had recently been inside it and swiftly opened the door to find an empty guest room. He motioned Mercy inside and watched as she set her things down before carefully sitting on the bed.
"Sharing a bed again?" She murmured, a slight smile on her lips.
Elliere smirked, enjoying the change from a tense atmosphere to something relaxed. "I guess I can't quite stay away from you. Besides, who wanted me to stay last time and didn't mind me in their bed?"
Mercy chuckled then, rolling her pretty hazel eyes. "Touché."
Elliere grinned then before stretching and then deciding to get ready for bed. He wasn't very hungry and after questioning Mercy found that she too, didn't seem to have the stomach for food so he opted for sleep instead.
He had considered going to the bathroom, but it would've been pointless as he slept only in his boxers. He moved to the other side of the bed and swiftly yanked his shirt off, his excellent hearing allowing him to catch the sharp intake Mercy made. He kept his face as blank as he could while he continued to undress, but inside he was burning with the need to have her, to see her pleasured face once again. His jeans fell to the floor with a rustle and he glanced up to see her eyes quickly avert to his own, a small blush tinting her cheeks.
"Uhm... I'm just gonna go..uh, change," She murmured, stumbling over her words.
However, even as she said such words she didn't twitch a muscle to do so and as Elliere moved closer to the bed, she became even more frozen. He could see the swirl of lust in her hazel eyes, smell the need beginning to rise off her and he knew he could have her if he so wanted. He just wanted to know if she wanted this entirely. Mercy seemed to accept what he was and the world he lived in, but was she ready for it?
"Mercy," Elliere rumbled, his own desire bubbling within. "Stop looking at me like that or I'll do something you might regret."
Mercy blinked, her eyes darting to his lips before biting her own. Elliere was in front of her within a second, making her jolt back slightly though she met his two-toned eyes boldly.
"I won't regret anything. I haven't yet," She whispered, the echo of her rapidly beating heart drummed within his ears.
Elliere leaned forward, making her have to tilt her head back to keep eye contact while he responded, "As I recall, you hadn't much enjoyed when I told you I had marked you and what it meant."
"But I've gotten the chance to know you..." Mercy replied, breathlessly.
"And?" He said, his voice raspy as he reached out a calloused hand and gently brushed his fingertips up her arm.
"And you already know I care, quite a bit."
Elliere stilled, his eyes flickering up to hers and the words that seemed to be insinuated were dangling on her tongue. He wanted her to be sure though, he wanted her to mean it. But as long as she cared, as long as she wanted him and could handle being right where she was, their bond could be sealed.
"Do you care enough for a lifetime?" He asked, leaning over her and causing her to fall back on her elbows instead of her palms.
"More than that. Enough to last this bond, enough to want this. I would not be here with you if I didn't care that much, if I didn't have feelings, if I-"
Elliere had slowly been leaning in as she spoke, his two-toned eyes locked with her beautiful hazel depths while his lips were making a path to her own petal soft ones. And as her last words were spilling, he had heard all he needed and brought his mouth against hers.
