Jay had decided to sleep over at Jake's place that night, making himself comfortable in one of the guest rooms. The house was quiet, the dim glow of the hallway light barely seeping through the gaps in the door. He was deep in sleep, the exhaustion of the day finally catching up to him.
That was until- BANG!
The door to his room swung open, crashing against the wall with a loud thud.
Jay flinched, his heart nearly leaping out of his chest as he jolted awake. His eyes barely adjusted to the darkness when he saw the familiar silhouette standing in the doorway.
"God, Eugene! You scared me," he groaned, rubbing his eyes and sitting up. His voice was hoarse with sleep, and his hair was a mess. "What's wrong with you barging in like that?"
Eugene, standing with her arms crossed, raised an eyebrow. "It's morning, lazy ass. Get up."
Jay looked around, finally noticing the empty seat beside him. He raised a brow. "Where's Jake, though?"
Eugene took a sip of her juice before answering casually, "He decided to sleep in."
Jay scoffed. "Sleep in? That guy never sleeps in." He leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. "Shouldn't he be up, pacing around, thinking about his reports or something?"
Eugene shrugged. "Guess he's tired. He's been resting a lot these days."
Jay tapped his fingers against the table, deep in thought. "Still feels weird." Then, with a smirk, he added, "I should go wake him up, right? Maybe dump a glass of cold water on him?"
